Harry is not a million miles away but with an X12 I suspect you will want to try the FDR 7 to 7.5 - and personally I would start with the 4 dot or 3 dot timing insert.

Personally with a 10.5 I would start with 10k-13k rpm and end 20K-25K rpm. What is best will depend on your motor and your motor timing

Its always difficult comparing different motors Finken - who knows what the real motor timings are! BUT IMHO 5xxx is just WAY too low for a 10.5, especially on an X12; not familiar with the Ballistic...
