Would an RS be enough for a 10.5 2wd buggy, or should I go with a Pro?

RS is plenty. I ran the RS with a 10.5 boosted in TC and had no issues.

I have what seems might be a crazy question. Is the for sale forum or the hobby shops the only place to pick up a tekin rs or pro? Is there no way to say buy one that has been sent back to the warranty dept that the owner say does not want anymore. Not like scratch and dent but more so factory refurbished esc? Looking for one of these for my F1. I have a SP PRO 2.0 but I think it may either be to big or to heavy.

Don't know if Tekin has a program to sell refurbed ESCs or not. Only way to know is contact Tekin and ask them. I'm assuming the ones returned for repair are repaired and those that can't be are junked and replaced with new ones.

Not sure if they sell repaired units, but they used to have a program where you could send back ANY Tekin ESC (brushed, brushless or blown up) and get a new RS or RS Pro at a substantial discount. Maybe one of the Tekin people could comment on whether this program still exists.

Randy from Tekin is at the Cactus Classic this weekend so I'm sure you won't get the official answer until sometime next week.

When you change the TP setting on the ESC directly, does that change the throttle curve at all? I'm running the new 223 software.

Not anymore no. TP used to be throttle profile, but at some stage it got changed to Timing Profile so you could change the timing profile without using a hotwire. It does however mean that now you need to use a hotwire to change the throttle profile.
