This is horrible news for me to read:-(

Where did you read "a lot"?
All we know Fantini has bought some machines and now it seems he is able to run his own production.

I have to go back and see where I read it but I thought someone said they sold 80 percent of their machines.

I have a Mantra laying around w/ only about a quart through it so it is in need of being finished breaking in. I don't do buggy any longer and am only doing truggy. My question is would this engine be fine for the heavier truggy?

I’m running a Mantra in buggy and it’s a great engine with good power. I think you should be fine with it in truggy with the right pipe combo, I’ve tried a few in buggy and engine definitely reacts to pipe/header change.
I used to have the Nova BF21 limited 3 port back in the day and put it in truggy and it was fine. I wasn’t racing yet and had just begun to hit a smaller track but cleared all the jumps and moved truggy around no problem.
I share that bc the Mantra is better and has More power plus truggys now are better then 9 yrs ago so just sharing why I think you’ll be fine; you might lack a little in truggy on a bigger track (keyword is might). I would say go with a 7mm Venturi or larger
if you want. Might lose a little on fuel mileage (I’m running 6mm in buggy) and good pipe combo.
I would say to try 41001, 41005, or 41031 for header. Pipe I would say probably 2096, 9853 or maybe 9886. 9901 or 2135 are good but I think would lack for that engine in truggy.

When I put the 41001 header on with 2135 pipe it had too much torque for me in buggy.
The 9853 pipe is a better low/mid pipe so I would say the 41001/9853 combo would be a good place to start for truggy.

Hope this helps a little, good luck with testing.

i've got a 28-8 that i have in my basher nt48.3 chassis.
i think i got a little anxious and ran it hard a bit to early with some questionable fuel. led to some detonation.
Novarossi kicked back my order for a rebuild basically saying they haven't gotten any parts in forever like mentioned in this thread.

is everyone having decent luck with the ct06 plug or are they finding it too hot?
ill be switching to fresh bones 30/8 and flush needles and starting over

the reason i believe the fuel was most of the problem is that it was older S&W which i believe was 25/12. It was in the squirt bottle for longer then i had thought so im assuming it was real low nitro high oil which got the motor super hot/lean on the top end causing the detonation.
The motor idles for days and low end is fine.

Thanks. I have a 2096 and a 9901 for pipes. and a 41021 for a header. I might be able to come up with a 41031 header.

I’ve ran S&W 30/9 race blend in novas and other engines always ran great with ct06 plug. 12 is a lot of oil but maybe you were running to lean or it’s not shimmed right for that fuel.

probably a combination of all the above,
hopefully the reset of settings helps get me to a base line again.
im going to check the pinch when warm to see if ive still got some break in to do.
i heard the detonation and the plug died so im assuming it was a lean issue. Not enough nitro for where i was at.

stock shims as well for now

I’ve got a Novarossi 28-7 with a pull start. Can I delete the pull start and put a regular back plate on it? I’ve seen other engines on YouTube get the pull start deleted like the lrp 32 and thought I could do it with the Novarossi 28-7 but wasn’t sure. I did a search but couldn’t find anything. Thanks for any help.

You need to get a backplate of a non pullstart engine and grind off the pullstart pin of the crankpin.

you can email AMR
they will make you a backplate for that motor but only if you use their mod service.
