I am hoping someone can help me out here. I purchased a new Rolling and had it broken in by AMR. After running a few tanks of fuel through it and having it run a little odd, I noticed that I had a fuel leak at the inlet of the carb. My inlet/HSN was tight and I wasnt sure how to stop the leak. I tried putting on a needle from another carb, but the engine was still not running right (didnt run it long enough to see if it was leaking). I ordered new washers for the inlet, but I wanted to ask if there is anything else I can do to ensure the carb will seal?

Just to be thorough here, when I say the engine wasnt running right I mean it was bogging on the bottom. It would idle great, and it would rip up top, but it had no bottom end. Sounded like the engine was either really lean when I got on the gas, or the clutch was bad. I changed the clutch shoes, springs, and bearings and tried to tune the LSN, but nothing had any effect. I ran 2 qualifiers with it, and the engine would run good for about 3 mins and then start to bog. After those 2 qualifiers I changed the inlet/HSN needle and it never ran good for any period of time.

does the LSN bind in mid speed needle/spraybar at all? my newest three needle carb the mid must have been poorly machined the long needle is tight at closed(get similiar issue to what you describe). with the short lsn it just dumps the fuel at idle as it fits so loose in the mid/spraybar. IMO that 067/mito carb is garbage for an offroad motor, the two needle 069 carb is the very best nova offroad carb.im lucky i have a few spares but ive never had good luck with that three needle.

The Rolling has the 069 carb on it, so it does not have the problem you are referring too. I appreciate the input though.

Do I have to get a new cooling head? Can I leave like this or maybe even cut off the rest of the top fin?
this happened at some point in my main on Saturday. Was a cooler night and came off the track temping at 215*. On hot days I’ve been in the 240-250 range. Let me know your opinions and knowledge on this.
Thanks

Hey guys,
does anybody know this engine? ISON 21 DLC
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Novarossi-IS...f196%7Ciid%3A1

Is it an onroad engine or is it for rally game? The cooling head looks more like a gt engine. Can this engine be used to power a buggy?
The prize tag seems to good to be true...

Andreas

it is an onroad .21 ison with dlc crank (I have one). Comes with ceramic rear bearing and ct8 plug. The sleeve is the same as the regular ison .21 and has a slightly different carb.

Default Bt4 Base settings help

My friends bt4 tune is all over the place
Hard to start
Once running just keeps stalling

Bogs and stalls after half a tank on throttle
New glow plug/fuel lines

Alot of smoke
He's at the point of packing in! And I've only been running nitro for 5 months so need more help on issue?

To get him back to base settings is it best to turn HSN to flush
And the LSN is 1 turn in from flush then he can start again?
From there I can help him fine tune the HSN and maybe get some where then help needed

is the motor fine internally? clutch good? whats the glowplug look like? an engine stalling on throttle "usually" only happens in a lean condition, a rich engine will gurgle and blubber when you get on throttle and may stall but will be on the initial pull after loading up with fuel off throttle, if you pull 20-50 feet out of the corner and then stall its probably lean.
an engine that is wore out internally, typically a streached rod can cause similar issues but your glowplug coils will start to look pushed in and the engine will have a noticable bit of play when it gets into compression.
if thats not the issue pull the carb apart and make sure its good and clean internally. set the high speed 2.75 turns from closed, start with the low speed 5 turns out from closed(pull the carb slide open while you do this) and slowly work your way leaner from there.

Does anyone know anything about the Novarossi RS 8 crono or the plus 21-8t. I did some searching and didn’t come up with anything on the plus 21-8t and I saw where someone said the crono was a fast engine. I wanted to buy another two engines and found these at decent prices or I may just get a Rolling. They would be going in a truggy and buggy for bashing. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
