My 1/8th AKA gridirons are at least 3/8" taller than my Bowties mounted on AE rims. They sure feel heavier.

Funny you say that, because the heaviest tire I weighted was a AKA Soft Gridiron, and yes they were the tallest buggy tire too. Proline Holeshots are lighter and less than a 1/6in taller than the stock AE tires.

those would not be bad if you siped em and taped them on the inside to keep ballooning down.

it puts weight right were you need it, over the contact patch of the tire.

Just ordered a JC underbody shell.

Has anyone had any Esc heat problems with this shell sealing up the chassis. I'm running a Tekin Rs with a 17.5 Novak Ballistic.

I'll probally paint it black and leave a clear window to see the Esc LEDs.

You will have no problems whatsoever with your RS.

JPMS, you can check out some of my paint at the website. www.wedjim.com

As was stated, I painted that for Jeff, from Team Helotes, but I can paint something along those lines that is unique to you!

lmk

Thanks,
Jim

Well, I've only read 40 or so pages so far, but everyone's sc10 looks awesome so far. I figured I'd share mine, since I just got it.

I got it from a guy who bought the kit and then decided he didn't want it. It was mostly assembled already, I just had to finish the shocks and some other minor things.

It's got a Novak Havoc sport 8.5T (19t pinion, pulls wheelies when it has traction) and what just arrived today, a Jconcepts Over-tray. I would highly recommend this thing to all of you. Looks like it's going to do a great job of keeping the dirt away from the internals.

I am having a bit of trouble with the slipper clutch though. When I got it the guy who built it said it should be pretty close, but I think that was for a 27t brushed motor. With my motor it was slipping like mad. I ended up tightening it so much that the spring is almost compressed to the point of each coil touching the next. I used the method of holding the rear wheels and blipping the throttle until it would lift the front wheels a bit. Is there a better way to do it? I'm afraid I have it too tight.

Anyway, onto a few pics:

(Excuse the slightly messy wiring)

^ You can see here I had to dremel the battery hold-down a little bit in order to fit the esc there, but I feel that it's in a good place. It wouldn't fit under the over-tray when it was on the side, and this way there's a more even side-side weight distribution IMO (The rx weighs nothing).

Oh, and ps: Don't worry, only the rx is velcroed down. That's because I use it in my touring car too. The esc is firmly planted. ;)

decent my sc10 is the same way

and for the 8.5 on DIRT it will need to be a bit looser then you have it..
i go by the book for 1/8 nitro dirt tracks that are pretty loose.
3 turns in from flush (the screw is just pocking through the locking nut)

Hadoken24 11-17-2009 11:31 PM

I apologize in advance for the noob question. I just got an sc10 RTR brand new today. How do I remove the front wheels? What tools do I need? This lock nut doesnt want to come out. Thanks for the help

ZiG-87 11-17-2009 11:44 PM

Try removing the 1/4" nut on the end of the axle. ;) The wheel should come off freely once the nut is off..
