If you are someone who makes a bunch of mistakes stay with a 10.5 as it will be easier to drive and keep in control.

No I dont make mistakes very often in 30min nitro races, I ran a 5000/40C dead 13.5bl with only one mistake yesterday practicing, I am pretty consistant, the only problems I run into is once I have the vehicle set up for the track is inconsistant traction which is having the right tire and tire compound and lap traffic. Lap traffic has always been my biggest problem, some drivers will stay in their line and you can make your move on them, and others dont even have a line, the no clue drivers, and the WORST:flaming: is to pass someone and the next corner as you are slowing down, they drill you in the rear corner, going to hot into the corner or just because you just passed them, even if they are laps down.

if you are able to make the consistant laps i say go for the hotter motor. I just know there are many out there who run hot motors and have no business running them. They could be faster with the slower motor but they feel races are won on the stright.

I had a guy in a local race when running my electric 8th scale come out of a corner onto the stright side by side pull me down the stright and proced be saying "you go motor'd" then drive off the end of the track. I just said "you got wheeled" and laughted. Some will never learn.

I get threw laped traffic by waiting for them to make a mistake. its the best most consistant way threw the traffic. Every now and then you get hit but it happens. We do have a good bit that will pull over when you come up on them and let them know you are the leader thought.

Just to clarify, is it the 34001M 1/8 buggy mediums, like these?

Do you have to do anything special to make the 1/8 foams work? Or do they just fit?

Thanks

Last night I was running second about a second back and when we got to traffic about five laps in that was it, it seemed like every lapper was taking a shot. Once I got through the field once first was gone, I never saw him again until the last lap of the 5 min heat when he caught a pipe in front of me and turned it over. My first win at WCRCR and I had no idea I was even in contention after getting mauled for a few laps.

If I could have applied the "wait for them to make a mistake" as well in the beginning as the end maybe we would have had a dice for the lead? How ironic to lead every lap but the one that counts, PRICELESS.

Having trouble finding tires, has anyone ran 1/8 buggy tires??????
I got about 300bucks in tires setting here from nitro buggy racing.
Also is there a bigger spur gear than the 87t, like a 90T?????

aka makes a kit that allows you to run 8th scale rims on the sc10.

What do you need a bigger spur for?

I know they make adaptors, I just wanted to know how they handle with buggy tires compared to the corr style tires.

My 1/8th scale buggy tires are heavier and a larger diameter than the SCT wheels/tires.

The extra spinning weight and diameter messes up the handleing of the truck. It's like haveing giant gyroscopes spinning on your truck.

Ok, for bashing, but not good for racing or the ideals of the SCT class.

Bowties for outdoors and stock Slash tires for indoors seem to be the hot ticket in my area.

never thought about the weight thing so I put them on a scale, 4.08oz are the stock used AE tires, my buggy holeshots new are 3.87oz and the heaviest buggy tire I found was 4.21oz, so they are the same weight, they are ugly when put on the truck, but I think that might be the way I have to go. Especially since they closed a track and the closest nitro track now is almost 3hr drive one way and I need to get rid of all my nitro stuff and have 17 full sets new or one runs for 1/8 buggy, and a 5gallon bucket overfilling with used buggy tires, my tire choice is endless almost running buggy tires.
I will just have to bite the bullet and put them on and let yal know how they work.
