you boys that have been managing to get these hooked up, i think buggyking had some awesome vids of his. im running on hard packed dusty tracks in australia and have the bowties m3 on front and m2 on rear, aswell as the gt2 arms and hubs and its made a remarkable difference. what do you reccommend spring/shock angle/oil to help it handle a bit better with a bit more grip. any other tips on what works on loose hardpacked tracks would be great. ps i have the complete spring sets to play aswell, and am running gold on front and green rear..

So I take it you got to much steering? Whats your truck doing on the track overall.

Has anybody had a chance to try out the Proline bead-locs yet? I see its using the same axle pin insert in the rim. I know that the stock rims strip out & you have to do that j b weld trick to beef up the rim hub to stop it from stripping out... heres the link in case you havent seen them yet.http://www.prolineracing.com/p-698-s...-for-sc10.aspx. So you have the m3's in front and M2's in rear?That will certainly make the car a handful in the conditions you mention...It should be the other way around.

thanks for the replies guys and your message BK. im urnning the m3's on the front just because i figured they would wear less there and have good grip. the m2's worked pretty well on the back. i have a pair of m3's for the back to try also.
the car was understeering a bit at first but that was with stock front tyres. with the m3's it was alot better. i just want to make it a bit more planted. its still a little loose in the back and can come unstuck occasionally in corners and under power. im running the stock foams and shock oils.
when you guys mention shock limiters, you mean inside the shock to prevent droop right?

i raced last week and it was great compared to the rest of the field. i came 2nd, however the truck that won was a well setup box stock slash!!! i own a slash too so i dont know how he does it other then being an amazing driver, i just wanna get mine a bit more dialed to catch him with my 'reduced' skill level ie i dont have 25 years experience!

I already hate AE shocks and I haven't even run my SC10 yet!!
I was checking the suspension settings and was dropping the rear end on the table and one of the rear shocks started pouring oil out of the bottom. I found out that it was because the shock cartridge came loose. I can't keep it snapped in so I have to buy a rebuild kit and try again. Why do they make those stupid cartridges anyway? Other shocks with a screw on bottom cap and an o-ring work just fine, like the TRX shocks for example. I love everything about the build and quality of the SC10 but very much dislike the design of the AE shocks. :flaming:

Try building them this way;

on the square snap in o-ring retainer there are two molded circles(barely visible)
make sure these circles face towards the o-ring.

one side of that retainer clip is sharper than the other, putting the circles towards the o-rings makes sure that you have the sharpest edge of the retainer facing up when it is installed into the body, this will help hold the clip in more securely.

Well that the design of the shocks unfortunelately. Just have to make sure the internal snap in correctly.

I used a shock rebuild kit from another AE kit...the one with the foam ring around it & yes u have to make sure you hear that snap when inserted. O yea...I used green slim on my o rings also.

Im gonna take that as a no...lol. ok next question...what are these flux wheels from J concept. Do you think they are better? I havent seen a pic yet...I know they SOPOSE to come out next week.

thats why i use FT T4 shocks.

AE does make the best shocks for 1/10 scale, they kinda dropped the ball though on the SC10 shocks it appears.
AE springs though do bind (blk, grn) on the rears, i have used losi springs on them though :lol: :weird:

The FT shock is dimensionally the same in the seal area and uses the same rebuild kit?

What's your point?
