Just got back from hot rod with a few changes to my truck;

first I put all the GT2 arms and carriers on, WOW! I could full stick the 17.5 for the first time, so I put a 13.5 in it and it was still very drivable.

I started with slash fronts and Slayer switches on the rear. Then tried the cut stock tires. while I could notice a difference I will not put them back on at Hot Rod, ever!

For the heats I but on bow ties and they were good, I think almost as good as the switches which I wish I had put back on for the main. Q #4, finished #4. lead for a while, last for a while (12 car main). I still want to try goosebumps.

So I finally got it out to the track today and these things suck up dirt like a hoover. FASST receivers are too pricey to be exposed like that. I've seen where some are running a buggy lid under the SC body.

Looking at my Slash and it's receiver box I couldn't help to think one of those on the SC10 couldn't hurt so I ordered one. Had to modify it a little so it's not waterproof, but it'll keep out a lot of earth.

I have an E-maxx reciever box to install in mine. The outlet is raised and goes over the outside frame rail.

Cool! That one looks even bigger. Did it fit OK? Got pics? I might pick up one of those if they work better.

Thanks

would have been a good idea to tie the cage to the shock towers like the SC8

Question-Is there any run in due on new electric motors that I need to know?
I plan on running Lipo with the stock Reedy 17t & ESC.
I am new to electrics and was curious.

That motor is junk. Use it till it dies, and get something better. The ESC is too, so if it lives beyond one or two runs, count yourself lucky. Mine lasted about 5 minutes. The motor, typically ran around 300 F! :eek: After replacing it with an old novak 4300 system, the truck is just as fast, and much more efficient. Also, you might want to look into a pair of Goosebump tires for the rear. It helps a TON to keep it planted. ;)

Check the pinion gear and be sure that you use a 17tooth or 18 tooth. The 20tooth that may be included in the earliest RTRs is too large.

If you overlaod the ESC (any ESC) it will be damaged. Driving in grass, mud, or sand will make the ESC more prone to overloading. if you want to drive in these conditions the gear ratio should be altered. If you want to step up to a better motor the Reedy Flash 17T is a good start as are the LRP ESC and Eraser motor combos
