Is anyone running ball diffs on their Sc10's, what are the pro's to doing this also are there any cons??

Three SC10s, all different motors. A stock RTR Reedy 17T brushed, a 13.5 Novak, and another 27T brushed motor. All were pretty equal. Sorry about the sound, not really sure why it's so quiet. The only sounds would've been laughter and the clashing of bodies anyway

A gear diff will accelerate alot faster than a ball diff but a ball diff will accelerate in a straight line much better. If you have a sweeper coming on a straight and you punch it with the gear diff the car will slide out where as with the ball diff it will hold its line better. IMO the gear diff is what makes the truck what it is and makes the class a blast to run. Plus if your running 17.5 you will be able to use more of the motor because of the acceleration the gear diff offers.

Will top exit wire Lipos work on the SC10? For example the SMC packs.

No modifications needed?

When I got the kit I stripped 2 sets of spider gears in the diff. I then moved to the ball diff. For me there easier to tune but will require maintainence. I know ball diffs backwards and forward so it was an easy mod to do. All I did was switch T- plate tranny case and build a ball diff easy. Hope this helps.
Run a pack on a ball diff then come back and readjust if necessary.

Could somebody confirm that the stock radio system is AM and 27mhz. I want to use my EX-1 UR, but don't quite have to money for 2.4ghz module/receiver yet. If the stock radio system in the RTR is AM and 27mhz, I can use my AM 27mhz mini-z module and a matching set of crystals right? Thanks, and sorry for so many questions, new at this.

They didn't, we just did that day to run backwards. We wanted to see what it was like, and forgot to put them back on that time. It's still pretty much just like it was.

Yeah will have to get the bearings as well. I couldnt wait for the 1 deg. The 1/2 deg with the cheddabob machined 4 deg rear toe in mount will be perfect adding a total of 1.5 deg of toe-in to the rear (and some weight)
