I guessed I missed a post, 4oz under the foam behind the battery.

trx450racer174 11-04-2009 04:27 PM

I have 1oz on the front skid close to the hinge pin brace.
1/2oz on each side of the chassis in the front by the battery brace.
1oz in the rear of the battery tub in front of the trans.
and 1/2oz on each side of the rear tub next to battery brace.

Ok I tried .5oz on the front skid and 2oz under the battery foam and it helped, I added another oz under the foam, need daylight and adjust my ride height to try it. But it did help rear traction problems so have to see if the added oz is the ticket or take it back out.

Next question, what tires are yal running for an outdoor track???

Im at 3 1/4 oz...was at 4 but I took some off. 3/4 oz. in front of the servo & 1 oz. right in front of the tranny and another 3/4 oz on each side of the battery. I tried going with just nothing in the rear(in front of the tranny) but the truck just to seem spin the tires without hooking up...added it back then I had more bite.
Just put in a T4 diff to see how the truck will like it. Im hoping it will.

I run goosebumps all they way around.

not sure if this was mentioned already but i took the battery foam out so i can move the battery back a tad and also run the esc right in front of the tranny behind the battery. then i run 1oz on the back of the chassis on each side of the battery.

Ok ...I have a question?

Have any of you checked the balance of your trucks, from left to right?

I found that MY TRUCK was heavier on the reciever side by 4 grams. This is without ANY weight in the truck.

I run my battery in the stock location

i am moving some stuff on my truck around right now..

it all depends on radio gear though..
i have a new futaba servo to mount up in mine
metal gear should add a bit more weight up front
and then i am keeping the stock bat location
i am also switching out my mm for a sidewinder
and moveing it to behind the battery right infront of the trans.
i run spektrum and the rx has like no weight to it all maybe 2 grams.
i can counter act that with some bbs or something.

adding weight once i get my new charger in the mail and able to drive it.

RcRacing4Ever 11-04-2009 07:24 PM

Cool.... Im using

KO servo
Spektrum recviever in a reciever box
GTB speedo..10.5
trakpower 4900
everything in stock locations

RcRacing4Ever 11-04-2009 07:39 PM

3 Attachment(s)
heres a pic of my layout...you can see where i put some of the weight

smokinu 11-04-2009 07:57 PM

the rx box is why your car is heavy on that side.
i run a balloon

RcRacing4Ever 11-05-2009 04:26 AM

Yeah I thought the same thing so I stripped my car down to nothing. Just the chassis & Im still 4 grams heavy on the right side. Ive added weight to the speedo side to make it right.

JPMSRacing 11-05-2009 04:31 AM

Hey I keep seeing those splash guard things on the front edges of the chassis behind the front wheels, who makes those???? When I get a chance to run mine again, I will let yal know how my weight trials work. I am just trying to keep the rear end planted under power out of a corner. The rest works really well until the shocks start loosing oil. The shocks just stink on this truck.

Gears for 17.5

building a SC10 for the 17.5 spec class.

What kind of pinion/spurs are you running? The gears recommended in the AE manual sound odd.

Are there team setups on the AE website for the sc10, I can't seem to find any?
