Man I had a hang out day at my BY track and the shocks on that truck are junk!! Everything else is super sweet, but the shock just have air in them and one started leaking alittle. What do you do with the shocks to get the air out and not have them leak.

with the emulshion shocks you will not get all the air out the shock without hydralocking them.

So do they make bladders for them????

MIP now makes a straight drop-in diff. It's $35 at Towerhobbies.com. I would also suggest getting the CVDs as well. Part #09130 (MIP DIFF) and #09128 (MIP CVDs).

I haven't measured it but it sure looks like the MIP diff has a bigger diameter on the contact point of the balls than the AE ball diff.

Just to reinforce, I have both and they are a simple drop-in with the stock SC-10 Tranny. All you need is the diff... nothing else needed. Just be sure it's the new one specifically for the SC-10 (not the one for the B4/T4).

I think MIP makes the ball diffs for AE or MIP uses AE parts to make their diffs. As I have a FT T4 and it's diff is very similar to the MIP SC-10 diff.

How much oil is leaking? Mine leaked all the fluid I tried rebuilding the shock with the rebuild kit but no luck on that one so I called Team Associated they sent me a new shock free.

The air you will never get rid of it for these type of shocks not unless you are going to use a bladder someone have converted their shocks a few pages back it includes the part number.

I run the VCS2 caps on all my offroad AE vehicles and they work great. TQ and the win at the opening race at the proving grounds near Grand Rapids, MI last Friday night (or saturday morning...however you view 4 am). Hopefully Handyracing.com will have vids of the race up soon because they ran 15 sc trucks in each main!

Thanks for the help guys, I got a bladder kit ordered, I hope that cures the shock fade and how inconsistant they are. The one leaking isnt that bad, I hope after I install the bladders it quits leaking. From Racing 1/8 buggy for years, I can feel a shock lossing pack and fading while racing, and that was the worst I have ever experienced with shock fade, and it was in my backyard, no way would I take that SC10 to a real indoor track and race it.
Other than that, the truck was awesome, I was running 19/87 with a 13.5BL, it was the slowest truck down the straight, everyone kept asking if my truck was dead, but was 3sec a lap faster than everyone else just because it would hold a tight line and not get out of shape.
The other SC10 there had the same problem, shocks, all his shocks leaked out in the first race, it was just a springy turd for the rest of the runs. He was kinda disappointed with it, he can hold his own and drives very well, but I let him drive mine, he tried to give it right back because he thought the battery was dead, LOL, I said no just drive it, he loved it, so if we can figure out this shock thing with them, we will probably try our luck at an indoor track this winter.

Been building AE 1/10 shocks for a long time, and the SC10 ones are the first I've ever had leak. Don't know if the seal isn't as good with the blue shocks or what. I'm going to switch to the FT shocks, never had an issue with those.

shocks

yeah i dont know whats up with the sc shocks ...they were a pain for me also.
I ended up buying a shock rebuild & soaked the o-rings in green slime & they where gold after that.... no issuses for like 4 months since I did it. I did the top o-ring(the 1 under the cap) also in the slime just in case but I only had issues from it leaking from the bottom.

Do most of the T4 items fit? They look like the do but making sure before I purchase anything. Was looking at the Titanium turnbuckles.

i have been having problems with the ft shocks for the t4 i have been running but mostly with the rears will the bladders keep it from hydrolocking and keep it from blowing oil out i imagine the shock caps will fit fine on the shock bushings no rub on anything else...also does anyone know what size the shock shafts are ( diameter ) mine are 3.00 to 3.05 is that right or too little .... just looked at the seals and one of the bottom plastic seals has tons of dirt on it what does that mean seals worn or ??? thnx Will G

if it looks the same, it is the same, including the motor mount, and front tower. they look slightly different but are the same.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with shock woses. I have helped alot a people with pack and rebound at 1/8scale tracks for years, but I havent figured out these. I will let yal know how the bladder kits work out.

I went out and ran some today with the boy, I got his Slash dialed. I had to gear up to be the same top speed, its bad when the 10yr boy (with 2yrs racing nitro 1/8buggy experience) is whippin the old man's new SC10. The shocks are gone already with 20min of run time on the new truck, no pack and totally no consistancy.

The front tower is NOT the same as a t4, the sc10 front tower has the additional molding to accept the front bumper braces.
