I'm building up my SC10 and am wondering if most are running the gear diff or a ball diff, what are the pro's and cons of each. i will be running on multiple surfaces from carpet, clay and dirt. if you are running a ball diff what additional parts are needed.
thanks the mip ball diff is a direct drop in |

Bought rear spring kit, all hobby people had the 1 deg hub and went with 30wt rear and blue springs, rebuilt diff and kept slipper 6-7 turns, after tonights run I had a constant 23-24 sec lap time, before 26-27 so it worked. Truck does push a little but not bad. thx for the help see the OCRC guys Wed for racing |
Back to back wins, Wed 13 laps 5.18
Fri 13 laps 5.20 I think I was on a 14 lap run untill lap traffic gave me a little trouble. |
Any word on a a possibe FT version of the SC10 coming out anytime soon???????
|
pictures of front swaybar installed
has anyone installed a front swaybar on there sc10 yet and if so can you post some pics and list what hardware you used
Thanks |
I didn't know there was a front sway bar option?? The rear one works well if your running an open mod class. My truck rolls alot, but I can't use swaybars until they bump me up to open mod.
Has anyone tried shortening the front camber link? What deos it do? I want to pick up a hair more off power steering, I tried going to the middle hole on the upper rear shock mount. That made the truck slide too much. So far I've found 2000 wt in the diff to really smooth this truck out. My 17.5 Novak balistic seems a hair too hot, I'm going to gear down to 24 or 25 teeth. I'm at 26 now. |
they don't make a specific front swaybar but a few guys were running the rear swaybar up front and there trucks looked dialed and i didn't get a chance to actualy look to see what they were doing. but i'm going to give it a try. I would just like to see what other guys are doing

OK guys, I went to an indoor track today and the only thing that hooks up is slicks, the buggy guys were running Panther slicks, so does anyone know of a company making slicks for shortcourse trucks???
I cant believe an off-road track that if you have any tread at all and they will not bite. I mean not even a worn tire would hook, it had to be a smooth slick to bite. It was unreal. Still shakin my head. |

It rolls but its consistant and doesnt sway back and forth with the sway bar. |
Ok for yal that race mod, I seen a 7.5 in a SC10 today and it was stupid fast but no line. The guy just pointed and gassed, pointed and gassed. Yes he was fast, but it was ugly. My truck I have a 13.5 in and coming from nitro it needs more guts, my buddies truck has a 10.5 and is easier to drive I think because its got more guts and top end.
So my question is what is the best motor size to run in the mod class, small track |
