You don't need the t4 T plate, but it has more material than the sc10 plate.
Is it worth the swap. Realistically. Im thinking about doing it but Im not sure I want to lay out the extra time and money if there is little difference. |
You will end up going back to the gear diffs. Save your $$

Same here...gets a blue groove & pretty smooth. It seems my truck likes it a little wet,as far as blue groove It seems to do Ok but not when it gets dry. I fall out of the groove & Im done |
Ahh - eff it, I spent the $ and did a couple of things today:eek:
I still dont know why but it done so Im stuck with it. Factory Team Threaded shocks with FT aluminum shock caps and T4 ball diff stealth tranny and diff plate. I already did the lundsford turn buckles and rpm ends, so I guess its as close as a FT truck as I could have made. I havent tried it but in the yard and the only differnce I have noticed is the rear dosent wash out as quickly or as much, well find out at the track tomorrow though. |
I put Factory Team T4 rear arms on and it seems to be more consistent now, I think the plastic arms were twisting on power and when they untwist it washes out the rear end. After one race night I'm happy with the change. I got a solid 2nd place with some really fast drivers.
It drives harder out of the corners now. I ran my fastest qual and fastest main with the SC10 so far tonight. I also have the VCS2 bladder caps on it now and the truck is more stable, I added a little rear ride height and rear camber after the 2nd qual and that helped a bunch too. |
just wanted to say IM PROUD TO RUN A SC10 AND NOT A SLASH!!! a friend got a Slash for his first R/C this week and we ran em last night on his track. blew up his diff first night out...so i tore the truck down for him to see what broke...what a pain in the a** to take apart. love my SC10!

SC10 for sale (new)
I decided to not run dirt so I have my SC10 for sale with hop-ups.
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...ml#post6304183 Will take any real offer also. |
For you guys that are running AE diff fluid what weight are you using/recommending for longevity and to stay in the diff? Is everyone just running black grease?

Though I mentioned a few posts back, I thought I would combine the mods so far.
T4 stealth tranny with ball diff, MIP cvd axles, lundsford turnbuckles with rpm ends, FT front hinge pin brace, FT threaded shocks with FT aluminum caps, and Goose bump tires. Just got back from the track and what and incredible difference. Performs exactly just like a super stable T4, with the exception of it jumps differntly with the parachute body. The tranny swap was well worth every penny. Stock it handled like the back end was on ice, with goose bumps, it was considerably better, and with the combination of the stealth ball diff and goose bumps, it handled just great. I also changed motory from a 10.5 to a 13.5 It is just as fast, if not faster because its not as overpowering and has more traction. Current set up is stock servo, Tekin RsPro, Novak 13.5 geared 23 / 87. It could easily go 24t pinion, but it wont fit. Temps are 130 motor and esc. 35w with silver springs front, 30w with green springs rear. I am tempted to go down to 30 front as well, but just dont want to mess with it right now. |
