The factory team one is the best design I've seen so far. Simple too. . . cut your foam spacer block in half.. add this strap . .

then you can adjust the battery forward, middle, and all the way to the rear. :D

yup thats next on my "dont need but want" list. :D

mmmmmmmmmmm carbon fiber...

But what's wrong with the stock one? I thought that little swinging style battery hold down was one of the most innovative stuff I've seen from AE!

Will AE ever release an FT kit for this? I'm always curious since the SC10 is competing against the budget conscious Slash, and an FT kit would maybe defeat that purpose?

FT kits were always for the serious RC enthusiast, so if a kid walks into an RC Hobby shop, and sees and FT kit, which needs ESC, Motor, Radio, and Batt complete for the same price as an RTR, the RTR would most likely sell instead of the FT...

But you know any one of us here would walk out with the FT over the RTR... :)

I just ordered one of those so I can move my battery around a little easier. The bullet conectors on my lipo get in the way of the stock strap.

My first track day EVER will be this weekend with my SC10:eek: I'm hoping I can pick up some of those skillz quickly:lol: My ESC and motor come in tomorrow so I'll have a day to get it dialed in. With your help and some help from a few others I've tweaked my stock setup a bit. I hope it helps me out:D

i pose something to think about. if racing on a smooth surface, when do the wheels become sprung and the chassis become unsprung?

Shock limiters

How many shock limiters are poeple running? I've found the 5 frt and 2 rear is the stock setup.

SC10 Rear Shocks

Hi,

I would like to take this chance to say thanks to AE I called them 2 days ago about the leaking rear shock I told them that I replaced all the internals on the shocks from the rebuilt kit and the problem is still there. Within two days I received a new shocks from the mail.

DeputyDad78 10-31-2009 10:19 AM

This may be a stupid question but the pinions I use for my other cars don't seem to work too well with the SC. Is there a certain kind I need to order? I have tried to adjust it many many times and no matter what it sounds horrible and seems like it will eat the gear up. FYI it's a 19t brushed with 17 tooth pinion. Thanks

Honu 10-31-2009 10:49 AM

I use the RR 48p pinions. They work great and are quiet.

DeputyDad78 10-31-2009 12:01 PM

Thats what the problem was. I was using different pitch. I yanked the one out of the bandit and its as quiet as a mouse. I forgot about pitch

dodgeboy93 10-31-2009 01:28 PM

i have an SC10 and these RTR tires suck i plan on racing in a stock spec CST class and at our tracks we are allowed to use other RTR or Stock tires from other SC kits. WHICH ONES ARE BETTER!!!

hpi has a "S" (SOFT) compound tire comming out in the stock MAXXIS tire. what about that one?????

My Setup for OCRC in Huntington Beach

I have been following this thread and thought I'd join in by providing my setup for OCRC. Maybe this will help some of you guys, as it seems HPI is making big push and all us SC10 guys need to represent.

Class: Stock Short Course
ESC: Novak GTB
Motor: Novak SS 17.5
Servo: AE DS1015
Battery: Reedy 2s, 35c, 5000 LIPO
Spur: 75
Pinion: 24 (started w/28 and kept moving down as temps were too high - this is for current, latest track configuration)
Trivetrain: MIP Ball Diff w/CVDs
Wheels: Pro-line Beadlocks
Tires: Pro-line Bow Ties (M3 both front and rear)
Rear Sway Bar: Medium (Silver)
Front Toe: 0 to slight toe out.
Rear Toe: +1 Degree Hubs (3 Degrees Total Toe IN)
Front Shocks: Gold Springs, 35 WT Oil
Rear Shocks: Silver Springs, 20 WT Oil
Front Camber: -1 Degree
Rear Camber: -2 Degrees
Battery Position: All the way towards the rear (using FT carbon battery strap)
Ride Height: Bones straight rear and level arms front.
Add'l Upgrades: FT Turnbuckles

With this setup, car is on rails and totally planted. It will feel like a whole new truck!

Biggest Improvements were seen with Tires, Swaybar, +1 Degree Rear hubs and moving battery to rear.

See you guys at the track!

smokinu 10-31-2009 02:34 PM

just got my sc10 in the mail... got it droped in my mm/4600 combo.. running a stock 19t pinion on 2s lipo (temps are like 130 on the motor running in grass so its ok and not overly geared for speed)

anyways it seems like there is a gear clicking i cant tell if its the slipper slipping or not... it dose not sound like my old t3 did. anyways just looking for some imput for a new sc10 owner. i guess i can tear into the trans. :(
