Sc10 at OC/RC Setting Tips?

I plan on running my sc10 soon at OC/RC in HB, CA. Can anyone reccommend Shock Oil and Spring Settings for that track. I know that they recently expanded/modified their track.

Thanks!

Blitz is only perceived better due to having more rear toe-in out-of-the-box. This makes it handle stock-for-stock better than an SC-10. Blitz is as good as it gets stock... as there are no after-market parts. SC-10 has so many after-market parts that improve handling and durability, with a little $$, an SC-10 will smoke a Blitz.

I am using gold front springs and silver rears. I use 35wt front and 25wt rear. I also use gold rear sway and 1-degree rear hubs on J-Concepts Goosebumps. I placed 2nd in open class this past sunday w/13.5. I just dropped in a 10.5 today and it's perfect. I can clear all jumps now (13.5 could not clear big jump by driver's stand).

I was looking at the new premounted bowties for the sc10 that I have on the way and I was wondering would i order a set of front and rears, or do you run the same size front and back on the sc10? Thanks

whtpny4 12-09-2009 03:24 PM

the tires are the same size front and rear but the wheels are not, rears are pins and fronts are bearings.

What weights are you running your Sc10's at?

I'm trying different weights and springs. Trying to come up with a lite setup by useing black springs in the rear with silver springs in the front.

I made a black spring for the front. It was too long so I had to cut a coil out to get proper ride ht.

With alot of weight added I'm around 68 onces or around 1900 grams without body.

I'm not following your answer, so would I order the rears or the fronts for a complete set for the sc10. What is the difference with the wheels?

Do I want a complete set of these http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-2-Slash-Front

Or These http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...k-2-Slash-Rear

The Blitz is a fine truck, and seems to be easier to drive. The Sc10 seems to have more steering and feels lighter, but needs more suspension tuning to get an edge on the Blitz.

I notice more weight added to Sc10's.

Kyosho has a SC truck coming out. Looks nearly the same as the Sc10/Blitz.

Neither, those are for the traxxas slash. It would be these:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...k-2-SC10-Front

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ck-2-SC10-Rear

Otherwise you would have to buy tires and wheels separately and mount them yourself. i just searched sc10 and then chose pro-line as the manufacturer. be careful though as it pulled up some slash stuff too...the slash uses a hex on the wheels where as the sc10 uses a pin in the rear and bearings in the wheel up front.

Hey folks...

I hate to be one of these guys... but I just don't have time to read 200 pages.

Anybody got a hot setup for a medium traction, indoor, flowing track?

17.5 Stock Class.

Also...

I've ordered the following for my SC10... See anything missing?

Threaded Shock Bodies
Gold Shock Shafts
Bleeder Caps
All other MISC stuff needed to assemble these...
FT Battery Strap
MIP Ball Diff
Associated Titanium Turnbuckles
Racers Edge 1* Rear Hubs and All the stuff needed for these...
Steering Rack Bearings
Blue Aluminum Servo Saver Thumbscrew
JConcepts Goosebumps tires
Pro-Line Split Six Beadlocks

I've ordered more than that... But this is all the stuff I feel pertinent to performance... Let me know if I missed anything important.

Thanks!

-David

David....Looking through your list and seeing that you said 'pertinent to performance' i agree with everything you have except the beadlocks..the reason is weight. if you were to take a regular AE or JConcepts wheel/tire mounted and weigh it, and then take one of the beadlocks mounted and weigh it,the beadlock setup is considerably heavier than the std wheel/tire combo. this is alot of weight to get moving especially when you times that by 4 wheels. i have heard of some people having problems with the AE wheels stripping the pin out if your not careful but i have been using the JConcepts wheels from day one and they work great.
