Which 13.5?

For Glitch, I was going to start with a 24/84 but others are running 26/87. It will depend on which motor manufacturer since some run hotter or cooler.
SRS, I would imagine it would be close. But I haven't ran there with new layout.

His truck wasnt dialed the first few rounds. His truck was all over the place. He even crashed and went off the track lol.

Just an FYI for those using a no-servo saver setup.

You will want to make sure that the plastic servo horn (if you go that route) is somewhat beefy. I had some of what I believe are older AE servo horns and snapped one after getting hit. Tried some that came with my T4.1 that I picked up recently and they were definitely beefier.

So if you feel more comfortable not using an alloy servo horn, just an FYI of something to look into.

I am running my 2WD F.T. truck with a MMP and a Savox SC-0252MG metal gear servo. I also installed a Spektrum glitch buster on it when I built the truck about 4 months ago. I have been driving it about once a week since I built it, and haven't seemed to have any issues at all with glitching.

Are you saying that you had a Savox servo on a MMP, and the Spektrum glitch buster worked for a while but then stopped working? If so, maybe I should just switch to an external CC BEC now before something get's damaged.... I would be really bummed if my $125 MMP got fried or something. I know that the Savox and JR servo's pull a lot of power, so I could see why it might be necessary. Thanks man!

short of seeing brown outs, I haven't heard of someone's ESC getting damaged because of the issue with the BEC.

A guy here who runs all MMPs uses CC BECs on all his stuff. no issues and it works great. Heck, I actually think the BEC he is using is some other brand as I believe its thinner but longer. More like the bank of capacitors that the Speed Passion GT2.0 Pros come with.

If you do pop the MMPs and want an ESC that doesn't need a BEC, give the Speed Passion GT2.0 Pros a look. I have been quite happy with my Pros and LPFs. And the Pros go for $125 new right now, LPFs $90. Don't even need a BEC on my SCT 4x4.

I just bought a $30 Venom off ebay. Who knows. I'll soon find out :)

As far as all this BEC talk......I was glitching with my MMP and Savox. It actually felt more like a bad sensor cable to me. I replaced 2 of them and realized it wasn't that. I had a Castle BEC laying around from my 8th scale days, so put that in and instantaneously my electronics were very stable. The noisy Savox actually queitted down too, and the glitch was gone.

If I had to go buy a $25 BEC I'm not sure I would have done that. I would have hawk'd the servo. But, it's in there and things are super stable and probably super safe.

I liked the idea a guy had of just buying a $1 cap and making your own with a servo end. Seems super easy and I bet it would solve the problem. Just a big storage tank for when the power hungry Savox needs a drink.

Just installed mine on my SC10 and B4. $40 delivered for 2 sets.

Not only looks good but I hear it makes it feel very connected. Not sure thats a good thing for me :). May have to turn down some EPA.

Whats a good place to start with gearing with a 8.5t in this truck? Thanks in advance.

I was at 15/87 with my 5700 castle which is eqivelent of about a 7.5t. So I'de guess real close around there. Maybe stick with the stock 84 and go 15-16 ish to start. Or someone else may pipe in here.

Yea that's what I did on the suggestion from the CC tech. Said I wore it out or something. I just run the external BEC with any MMP setup now, it's 10A so I have no worries.

Bought my son an entry level SC10 2wd rtr about 6 months ago. He initially wanted it just to bash around but now he may want to use it on the track and race once in a while.

I have an extra MMP laying around that I can put on it. I know that I need to change tires. What else would you recommend upgrading besides those? Shocks then servo? Or servo first? What kind of shocks do I get?

Yeah, tires are a definite must for starters. I'd go with a new servo before replacing the shocks, then maybe an RPM front bumper if he still is getting the hang of driving. I'd actually go with the FT adjustable rear arm mounts for rear toe in and antisquat adjustment before changing the shocks, but it sort of gets into personal preference at this point.

Personally, I would change out the servo before the shocks. Popular servos for the SC10 would be Savox or XP. Both are an excellent value. You may just want to look into an external BEC or glitch buster if you plan on using a Savox with your MMP, they use a good bit of power. And as far as the shocks go, these are the ones you'd want to get:

A good spring setup to start with would be the stock one, which is reds on the front and grays on the rear. Good luck!
