in have a dx3c controller and im thinking about getting the mamba max pro and i heard with the savox servos you have to get a external bec for the mmp or it will glitch and savox glitches with use of a specktrum radio is this all true and if so would this stuff be better and without glitches

Yeah, tires are a definite must for starters. I'd go with a new servo before replacing the shocks, then maybe an RPM front bumper if he still is getting the hang of driving. I'd actually go with the FT adjustable rear arm mounts for rear toe in and antisquat adjustment before changing the shocks, but it sort of gets into personal preference at this point.

Personally, I would change out the servo before the shocks. Popular servos for the SC10 would be Savox or XP. Both are an excellent value. You may just want to look into an external BEC or glitch buster if you plan on using a Savox with your MMP, they use a good bit of power. And as far as the shocks go, these are the ones you'd want to get:

Fronts -> http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ront-Shock-Kit

Rears -> http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Rear-Shock-Kit

A good spring setup to start with would be the stock one, which is reds on the front and grays on the rear. Good luck!

THANK YOU BOTH. Servo it is then shocks.

From my experience that servo will work fine with spektrum dsm 1 or 2 and with any esc even without a glitch buster or ext bec, as long as your end points are set correctly of course(this is true for any servo)

I run a xp-ds1015 (little bit more power hungry than a 1313 ) with a hobbywing xerun esc and speky dsm1 dx3c and dont have any probs at all and no glitch buster cap or external bec.

In the reviews on amain for the ds1313 a guy says that it works fine with a castle esc without glitch buster also :)

Have a castle 3800/mmp combo. Currently geared at 23/87. Seems to still be winding up at the end of a long straight. Thinking I need to re-gear to get more bottom end. Have done the torque test and have set it at 10. Feels like I need more bottom end. Running on a large indoor track in San Diego that has high traction. Thanks

Picked up a 19t pinion to go with the 87 spur. Anyone running this combo? If so, do you feel you are getting enough low end? Should I consider a 17 or is that just too much torque. Thanks all.

What wheels are you guys running on your sc10? I am thinking about doing the hex conversion with the sc10rs front end and j concepts rear adapters. Whilst at the lhs I was asking about wheels and tyres and apparently only the stock AE kmc hex wheels will work because they are zero offset. The staff members said that they tried a variety of hex wheels and they all ran foul of the body (ie too wide).

Has anyone here had issues with, say, the j concept hazards? I plan on running pro line gladiator tires if that makes a difference.

wondering that myself as i see people say +3 mm off-set but to me that would be even wider ?

on a side note i tried a set of Durango 14mm alloy hexes on the rear.
it would need a washer on out side of rim as thread would possibly be a little short,but the hex has the pin go on the out side of hex making the hex pull into the pin and wheel, plus offset should not change.
shame there not 12mm

Anybody else notice Maifield was running a Savox servo in his SC10?

I am thinking I may just stick the proline tires onto the AE hex wheels and be done with it. There shouldnt be any issues mounting proline/jconcepts tyres on the stock wheels right?

Speaking of Savox, I'm thinking of running this - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ium-Gear-Servo

Slightly off topic - Does anyone know how to get the crosspin on the rear hub out? Mine just flatly refuses to move no matter how hard I try.

I ran 22/84 and I turned the torque down to 7. I was going to lower the torque more but I went sensored instead.

Go for it. That's the servo my son run's in his SC10 and it just flat out rocks.

NSx 23

Stange. I have had worn crosspins fall out on my workbench on their own.

Try grabbing it with a pair of needle nose pliers that have teeth. As you are pulling rotate/twist the pin right and left. It should work its self out a little further with each twist.
