As far as the chassis brace goes, you dont really need it. When the SC10 first came out they were weak and brittle, but eversince that they have made them stronger. I have never broken a chassis. One guy at my track did, but he drove his car full speed up a ramp right into a steel poll with no body on. I dont know if this has been disscussed here yet but just to let you guys know RPM released a rear bumper for the SC10 |
Quick question for you guys. Is anyone running the MIP Ball Diff for the Sc10? I want to completly rebuild my diff rings, balls, outdrives, etc and by time I buy all those peices its cheaper to just buy the MIP ball diff. Any difference between the MIP diff and stock? How are the diff balls that come with the MIP ball diff?

Also, in checking out the new SC10GT, it looks like the front kickup is much beefier than the regular SC10 chassis...do you think they'll incorporate that into a mold for a new electric chassis? I'm looking for alternatives! |
I thought about running just the smaller section of the rpm. But worried the front will stick like a buggy lol.

I only use MIP outdrives and can say they are much stronger then the AE ones. But I use carbide diff balls with ceramic thrust balls with al AE parts.

I was considering trying the stock bumper. I feel like my rpm sticks out to much and I don't like the bulk hanging off the bottom of the chassis. I feel like when I set up my truck it's actually like 1/4" lower in the front compared to a setup that's not using the rpm bumper.

+1, I agree this is the way to go  This setup yields the smoothest ball diff I've ever ran. I only need to rebuild it about once every 1-2 months... and I could probably let it go a bit longer then that, I'm veryyy particular with my stuff :D

Yeah mine show no wear at all

What are you guys doing to the outdrives? If built properly and not abused, the Factory Team parts perform very well.

I race once a week and practice once a week. I race only and don't bash my truck at all. I also rebuild my shocks every one to two weeks. |

Maybe one of you guys who are really into setups can check this video and help me with something .. seems like no matter how I land I get a good bounce definitely in the rear. Maybe it need to jump on the power sooner? Or something with the setup?
