I went ahead with the most recent mayfield setup. Now time to get it dirty lol.

I just got the FT truck and built it. Im looking over springs and shock weights in the setup section on the AE site.
Does anyone run the grey springs that came with the truck in the rear? It seems like most setups have the green springs in the rear.

Also, I have 30wt in the rear (kit stock) and the truck seems kinda bouncy on the bench. Does that translate to the track or should I just run it as is and see how it does?

Thanks guys

I can not comment on the hexes being hard on rear bearings. I put the aluminum hubs in when I built my truck with the hexes. I did have them drilled and tapped for a setscrew. Them seem to get sloppy quick if you do not.

Like Cain posted, go to the AE site and check out some set-ups. I run Due's set-up with the following changes: 31mm front and 30mm rear ride height, Avid rack, Kyosho X shock o-rings, J-Concepts Hi-Flo body, and hexes with Hazard wheels. Seen a lot of people run Mayfields set-up also.

I've been thinking about picking 2 of these up. One for the 4.1 and for the Sc10 but I was'nt sure if it would make that big of a difference compared to the stocker super glued. Im a fairly clean driver, not saying mishaps never happen but far and few between now days so im not worried about breakages.

I always ran green... In fact, aside from the black, I never run anything but green on any of my 2wd cars.

On the SC10 I ran 35wt, green, #1, and 1 spacer in the rear and 40wt, red, #3, and 6 spacers in the front.

Do you feel like your rear slaps on landings?
I'm running 30wt. with Sliver springs and #1 piston and seem to slap a bit more than I like.

Depends on the track and conditions you run on. But the Mayfield set up is a pretty solid starting point. I believe it calls for rear green 30wt and blue front 35wt. Number 3 piston front and number 2 on the rear.

Does anyone know a release date for the new jconcepts monroe battery strap and the new +3mm fluorescent hazard wheels? I've been looking all over and haven't found anything. thanks!

I have seen a lot of #1 pistons in the back on the last few pages. Is that what everyone is running with 30wt?

I'm running rpm dual stage blue or yellow. They work great for my track. And 30wt in the rear.

No worse than I'd expect, really seemed quite minimal. It mostly depends on how hard you land...

How necessary is the Hex Conversion?

Just a though after I have spend all this money Hahaha.

They're not necessary unless you want to run hex wheels. The main bonus to the hex conversion is easier swapping/cleaning of tires, followed by the ability to rotate them.
