Lets say that you have a extra chassis that you want to modified or cut to make it flex a little more for better grip on a loose track... Where would you start or what would you do?

Make sure you have the correct tires and setup. That will be your best choice.

I'm looking to pick up a set of 17mm adaptors now that I'm running a converted 8th scale for 4wd SCT. Keeping rim counts low is the goal, but I keep reading mixed reviews on various adapters. Anyone have a favorite?

I am still running normal ae springs (never converted to losi or kyosho bb) but want to try them out. if you have the converision for the losi springs (i have extras laying around from my buggy conversion) will they work on that? or is everyone just waiting for ae bb?

I switched to the Losi BB springs for a while and was very disappointed with the results I got with using them. I tried about 6 different combinations of springs, and could never match the stock AE spring setup I was running prior to the conversion (Fronts:red Rears:gray and green). I know a lot of folks on here say they have had good results with the Losi BB conversion, I am just not one of them. I was looking at picking up some of the new Avid BB springs, as they make them in a closer rating to what I need to match, but have decided to hold off for the AE BB stuff. I have a feeling they will be out before too long. I have found that usually when I try to stray away from AE stuff, I typically come right back to it. It really comes down to the fact that AE knows what they're doing, and doesn't put out crap. When they come out with BB shocks, they will work excellent and most likely better then any combo I could rig up using other brands parts.

I tend to agree with you. I did the losi bb conversion on my b4 and felt like they made a great difference as far as stability went, but the ae springs work well on my sc10 so I was not as inclined to switch (plus I have heard a few express the same issues you had on your sc10). I will more than likely wait for the ae bb as well unless glowing reviews start coming out for the avid stuff.

The track we run on pretty much have no rules. We are running 17.5.I was wondering if Pro-line slicers are worth a darn vs. carvers. The track is a dusty loose dirt clay mixture,.Calipers are working good on the rear.

anybody/

I put the shocks(TLR tuning kit) off my Losi SCB on my SC10 and like them way better then the stock SC10RS shocks.

Wow. That's a first. I actually saw guys running AE shocks (with Losi springs) on there Losi trucks and buggies. But they have since sold the Losi's too....

None of the TLR springs are stiff enough for the front if you usually run reds, the 22 buggy rear is between a blue and a red somewhere, but it also is too long so you wind up with a ride height somewhere near 32mm no matter what you do.

The Kyosho springs are stiff enough. I run TLR 22 orange rear and it's a bit softer than the AE blue (which would be my regular spring). I have been running Kyosho rears iin both yellow and red for several months, Kody is running something similar now.

I'm certain the Avid stuff is solid - the guy who put that together's last job was at AE, so he knows what he's doing. And they rate the springs the same way that AE does for reference.

For real! I have V1 shocks and am quite fond of them; when big bores come out I'm likely not changing. They will leak if you don't bleed them properly.

Yep, that was the exact same problem I was having... none of the Losi BB springs were ever stiff enough to match my current AE setup. I have heard that the Kyosho's work... but I am wayyyyyy to cheap to buy a pair of those suckers :D I mean heck, I can get 3 pairs of Avid springs for the same price! Yeah, I think that Avid has some real potential... when I first started racing back in last September, I had never even heard of them. Now, they are what everyone is talking about. I plan on picking up a 4-pack of their wheel adapters here soon (to replace my dumb JConcept ones ) and also one of their one piece bellcranks to. They both sound pretty promising. Thanks for the heads up on the shocks though, I'm gonna wait and see what everyone say's about them on here

Hope you don't plan on getting much sleep for the first few day's after you get your kit, your gonna be up alllll night working on it (I know all to well :D)

Oh, and you better get used to the feeling of spending too much money, that's RC racing for ya! I found out the hard way

Hahaha yeah, the moment I was about to order I had to pull out and pay for some stuff.

In the end I threw it on the Credit Card and said bugger it.

Im used to building things now after 2 Precision Aerobatics planes and countless old Tamiya kits (Stadium Blitzer/Thunder, Nitro WRX) im used to building.

Oh yeah Racing cant be any more expensive then planes :D

I am really loving the Avid springs. I had the Losi springs first on my B4.1 and I am currently running Red/White with my shorty. On the SC10 I started with Losi rear silver on the front and Losi rear white in the rear. Didn't like the way the front bounced around and did not jump right at all. Switched to Green losi 22T front springs and it was much better, but not what I hoped. No better than AE. Put Losi yellow rears on the rear and tweeked my setup, and it was decent, but still not right. Then came the Avids. Put the yellow fronts on and white rears to get close to AE Blue/Green, and that was light years ahead of any Losi combo and a little better than my SC ever handled. Little soft out back though so I put the Yellows on the rear, and put the Whites up front on a tip from my buddy, WOW! Now I just need to learn to pull the damn trigger through the turns lol! It doesn't dive any direction and it feels stuck to the track. I am running the Maifield 2011 nats setup but with .05 rear hubs, 35/30wt, 0 front camber and 0 toe, Avid Yellow 1.99 white 3.16 and Ghea pistons. I will be running this setup for a while for sure. Med/large outdoor track, clay/dirt mix, wet, hardpack. Anyone on the fence about getting the springs, get them. I also picked up the Avid buggy springs tonight. They are all that. And yes I have tried the Kyosho springs.
