Problems with a brand new pro 1.1 / 8.5 combo. About 2 min into first use the car stopped working. Motor will only run if you roll the car slightly. Then it cogs very bad. I replaced sensor wire, battery pack and reset/ recalibrated esc. Any ideas? This was a part of a Xmas gift so I wanted it to run when opened.

The problem you're describing is very common with a bad solder connection on one of the 3 wires between the ESC and motor. Once you double check your soldered joints, then try rotating each of the bullets 90° to see if you have a bad bullet connector on one of the leads inside the endbell. If the problem goes away temporarily, then you may have a bad male bullet inside the motor.

No, sorry...it cannot. GT2 is discontinued and they are using the older generation software that is not compatible with REVENTON software.

You can run a low turn regular mod motor or try the new Speed Passion Blaze 4x4 SC line of motors.

See what billdelong wrote. Did a sensorboard go bad after a hard crash? Is the cogging happening all the time? low/mid/full throttle cogging?

I'm not sure what you are asking, but what you describe sounds like a GT Pro 2.0.

if the car was over geared, the ESC could've burned up too, do you know if there is overheat protection built into the ESC?

I once burned up an ESC (not from SP) when trying to run Open Mod with a 3.5T motor, fried the ESC in less than 2 min... literally melted the solder on the wires to the PCB of the ESC... totally my fault because I had the car over geared. The ESC I was running was supposed to have over heat protection but it didn't work, sure was fun running the car like a ballistic rocket while it lasted, I stay away from 3.5T motors now

All Reventons have the option of turning on/off overheat and voltage protection. Most racers turn it off though.

I had it turned on. This was first time out with a new buggy on a brand new track. Just taking slow laps trying to get a feel for the car. The cogging is only at slow speeds, but as soon as you stop it will not start up again unless you push it. I called speed passion and got a RMA to send it back.

The Silver Arrow and the Blaze 2100KV is very popular with our ebuggy racers. Depending on the track size or and traction you might want to look at the 1800KV also.

Ran the new Reventon Pro 1.1 EX speed controls today in practice. 2wd mod and 4wd buggy.

Both speed controls did well and actually run cooler than the 1.0 Pros. I can tell the 1.1 ESCs have a little more power and punch over the 1.0 ESCs as well. Had to adjust my throttle expo a little more to get the car settled.

As always, can't go wrong with black either. Good stuff.
