Was browsing through some older post and saw mention of the capacitors not having the logic board needing to be replaced on the Reventon line. I just checked all mine and out of 2 R, 2 S and 1 Stock Club only 1 has the new style cap. Message left at the 888 number. I have been running a few of these for about 6 or months and I will say they are the best ESC I have ever driven. Great job Speed Passion.

The capacitor is there to really protect the ESC and help it run cooler. It doesn't directly effect the motor.

Feeling flat would be more gearing, timing, or profile setup. I would not disconnect the capacitor when running and Reventons.

No, the capacitor is okay. Just as Nexus said that capacitor is protect the ESC and help the ESC cool down.

Nope, that is normal behavior for a cap. It holds a slight voltage and that is what you are seeing when pushing the power button. As for feeling flat, what car, motor and gearing are you running? Nail those down and then you can start looking at the ESC although the only thing I could think of would be a really low DRRS (punch) setting.

Then once your ESC accepts that you can go ahead and update the firmware you are specifically trying to use.
This doesnt work at all. The esc is bricked basically after a "Failed update." The reventon software nor the reventon lcd recongize "see" the esc. Once you plug up a battery to the esc and turn it on, it'll just have a solid yellow light. It will turn off once you hook it up to a lcd programmer or reciever. It'll actully make a low toned beep once you do this too.

I've tried everything to get it to work that I can think off. Re-installed the latest software on two different pc's and a netbook. Everything works fine but the esc. Now mind you I own two other reventon pros and they work fine and update fine.

Lots of Speed Passion threads, so I'll try here: what's the weight of the Reventon Stock ESC? And does it support the smart LCD card (not just the LED card)? Thanks,

LOL

Do you know the separate weights for the cap and switch? So I may try to balance out the receiver. Thanks,

Allright, been wanting to try a new ESC and couldn't bring myself to pay for the Orion, so I just bought 2 Reventon Pro's along with a new Sportsman 6.5R. Anything I need to know before hooking them up? Do I need to start with firmware upgrades, etc, or are they good to go out of the box? They will both be going into 2WD mod buggies (me and my son) and if all goes well I may buy 2 more for our 4WD mod buggies.
