On your site it says the Reventon S can run as low as a 7.5t, I have also searched this thread and have seen some people say that it is 9.5t. I'm just wondering which turn limit is correct thanks.

Did the ESC get too hot or did the motor get too hot and the ESC shut down? The Pro is a pretty stout ESC, but the fan is highly recommended in a 4wd, especially if it's hot outside.

a few questions:
what were the settings? what firmware? what was the gearing? what size track? did you have a fan on the esc? real world experience, I have seen all brands thermal on a 50 degree track and burn the motor to a crisp as well. ...or if set up differently they won't.
usually, for SP stuff, lower gearing with more boost, and fans make all the difference. Especially in 4wd buggy. There is a reason the guys at the worlds were running extra fans in all their cars on the motors too. it wasn't for looks.
If you give us more info we can help you keep from ruining another esc.
thanks.

potential new convert to speed passion. Couple of questions............

1. does the new 1.1 ex support using 2s lipos? If I am reading it correctly it does.

2. 140amp vs 70amp on the reventon R..............got back into this hobby after being in it from the 90's the electronics still give me fits. what would be the noticeable difference to a mid pack runner? Is it how smooth it operates? Temperature? I don't buy the $100 battery packs.

I guess I am asking.......for the general hobbyist (who wants to be competitive but at 48 I am not beating the kids) do I need the latest greatest?

I am wanting performance, dependability, and ease of use along with cost effective.

thanks for any input.

The EX does 2S. It's black, and comes with the new high power capacitor. It doesn't come with a program box, but you can get that for an extra $10 as part of a deal.

The regular 1.1 Pro has the regular capacitor and a program box.

Either will probably fit you just fine. The Pro ESC's are the way to go, though.

1. As stated yes.

2. The Reventon R is a great value and can run mod or stock competitively. I ran a Reventon R and S in my Kyosho SCR. You can find great combo deals on the Reventons + motor if you are looking to save some cash.

I'm having cutting out issues again. Because of some damage to my motor (co-worker dropped it) I bought a new motor (17.5MMM) and sensor wire (180mm) from speedpowerrc. I lost all drive power several times yesterday using several different batteries. Twice the system shut down completely and wouldn't power up until I pulled the battery plug and reconnected it. Would this be a on-off switch problem or is there something wrong with my esc. What can I do to test what could be causing the problem? ESC is a Reventon Stock Club Race.

Hello guys I am done with nitro!!!!! I have been run the revention pro in my son and my sc10 corr trucks, I couldnt be happier!
Ebuggy has taken over and I need a speed passion silver arrow 2 and a 1800-2100 kV motors. But when I look at the setup sheet /manual it call for 2 different program boxes??? Do I need both or one????
On our revention pros my 6yr speed racer use the blinky and I us the stock 1 with hybreboost. Do u have to use both program boxes or can I use one for both??

Are heat and voltage protection disabled?

The Silver Arrow uses the older black programming box. The newer style blue Reventon version is not compatible with it.

heat and voltage protection is enabled. I have been running a 4300mah 60c 2s and get an easy 30 minutes of run time. This is not lvc coming on. Ambient temps have been around 60f and measured temps of the motor have been mid 90s and the ESC is high 80s without the fan.
