Questions??

I have a Reventon Pro in stock0 blinky mode with a Trinity(3.5) 17.5. I'm experiencing some low throttle cogging. If I've read correctly, that's quite common with that combo right?

Have you downloaded the current software version. Did you try stock1 or even mod2 to see if the cogging dissappeared?

I tried different motors, several sensor wires, changing from mod 2 to mod 1 software, and even different brand radio and receivers and nothing helped so I sent it back to get warrantied. I received my new one just in time for a long race weekend. What do you know the exact same result. I am baffled. I have a hard time believing that both of these are bad. I have reset my throttle points I don't know how many times and have played with my neutral point adjustments with the programming box thinking that was messing with it. Has anyone had similar issues?

Had the same issue with a reventon pro 1.1. Tried all possible solutions which includes replacing sensor wire, receiver, and motor. However, the problem remains and left me with no other option but to swap it out for another esc. Fortunately the shop where i got the esc was kind enough to part a reventon pro (not 1.1) combo and exchange my 1.1 to a 1.0. While the cogging on the 1.0 has been minimal/tolerable, it still exists. In addition, it seems that im not the only one at my local track dealing with this very same issue.

FWIW, a friend of mine mentioned that it could be related to the savox servo im using. will try another servo and see if the problem disapears.

Yes, I do have the current software. I was using the same esc in another car running the mod2 firmware with no issues. I think its just an issue with that firmware/motor combo.

I have the same combo, and experieced the same problem. I replaced the sensor wire, and that corrected the problem. You have to make sure the sensor wire is firmly seated in the esc. I will actually shoot a little bit of motor spray into the socket, blow it out with air, and after inserting the sensor cable I'll use a jewelers screw driver to make sure it is fully seated. I've actually had to replace the sensor cable 3 times. Once, only a couple of weeks after having replaced one. They have all looked ok. I've switched to a flat stiffer cable, and so far it has been holding up.

Maybe so Ron. I run all SP motors and have never experienced anything like that. You try another brand motor to confirm?

I have a Speed Passion Reventon Stock Club Race and V3.0 17.5 combo in my Tamiya buggy. I was looking at the USA website and it showed the v3.0 17.5 as 2700kv and the MMMas 2900kv. The paperwork I got with my combo shows the v3.0 as 2200kv. Was this a running change? Or was my motor underrated? What can be done to achieve that 2700kv on my motor? I'm running 33/69 gearing and my temps are at 130 on the motor. So I assume I can gear up a little? maybe try 35?

I wouldn't gear solely on temperature alone. Layout, jumps, etc should be taken into account. If you feel like you are getting pulled then maybe go up in pinion or increase timing. At 130 you still have room to play in terms of heat range.

Had my first time running stock and I would call it a success. Bigron was nice enough to load the firmware onto my Revention R, thanks again, and I ran my 17.5 with stock can timing. I was horribly under geared but still made decent lap times. I am planning to run again Saturday at the WRL race and hopefully my gearing will be better but I still will be running with stock can timing. The new speedo ran great and I have no complaints. A friend told me he runs 37/69 on his B4 so that's where I at for Saturday. Thanks SP.

Does anyone know if any Reventon line esc can handle a 550 5.5t motor? for a 4wd short course.

Thank you

As previously suggested, try the previous GT2.0 pro version. No need to go crazy on timing or boost esp. if 4pole.

anyone thoughts on the SP 7.5 v3 Comp NON mmm motor? heat issues? durability? I am sure its plenty fast, because its an 8.5, lol. The motors are just sooo cheap... I have to try mod. I might use this for 4x4 buggy in the future as well.

I've used them and they can take heat. Or when they are $26 I should say they take heat. Got one that has seen real close to 200* more than once.
