Nexus. Thanks. I reflashed with v21 last night and still didn't show an improvement. I love these ESC's but there was a massive difference when I borrowed my friends extra orca and soldered it in my xray and ran a few laps. Could carry more speed and brake a lot later than with my Rev Pro. Almost broke down and bought the Rev Pro 1.1 but after I didn't like the feel of the other 3 I have I doubt the 1.1 is different. I think it is just the software profile. Have those that reflashed with the much more fleta software noticed increased breaking in stock0?

I also had a bad experience with SP customer support. After 6 months of use my Reventon Pro 1.1 sensor circuit seems that is malfunctioning. I have sent an email to SpeedPassion on 6/23 (both [email protected] and [email protected] ), the two email addresses I found at http://www.speedpassion.net and also PMed here about the RMA I have filled in but still no response 8 days later. Working in the industry makes me a bit sensitive on matters like this. I think that people work hard to get the money to spend on RC equipment so companies should respect that, giving a decent customer support in return.

I also need to chime in here, I had an ESC go bad after 3 weeks of use and went ahead and bought a new one. But I wanted to return the one Bad One. I wrote an email to them thru the Face Book page and their International web page and didn't hear from them for at least 4 days. I also went on the chat area on their face book page and they said to get an RMA by going to my member sign in area. Filled out that info and got an email a few days later confirming my return and approving it. But no address where to send it or if I needed to send a copy of the RMA confirmation. I have a return email asking these question now waiting for an answer and the ESC is setting on my desk waiting for an answer. I think a Language barrier could be the reason and maybe a cultural thing. But it is annoying, specially when you like the product and want to support them.

If you did the RMA through the Speed Passion website the address shows up on the last screen after you press "Submit". It's on the same page that you would have seen the "URxxxxx" number.

Actually I did the RMA through the Speed Power Facebook website where I bought it from. I still have not found an address. I did write the address request on their "Leave Message Area". Waiting for a reply so I can send this out. I'm sure its somewhere near Chicago where it was sent from, but its a PO Box. Don't like sending stuff to a PO Box.

So I have been troubleshooting my software install and programming for my new 1.1s.

Couple ?s for those who have had success.

1) Anyone having difficulty using XP on the newer software? (Yea I know I'm behind the curve...)

2) Why would the software work when I connect to my Reventon R, and not my Pro 1.1?

3) When I try to update the LCD box, I don't see the prompt on the software screen to select the UPDATE SOFTWARE.

4) When doing the "Driver update" are you connecting the LCD box to the computer as it installs? (I've done a drag/drop before and had it work, but that was on the S, not for the R or Pro 1.1)

5) When my Pro 1.1 is connected, it only ever lets me change the settings using the LCD box, and never the Computer software, yet when I used my R, and the LED box, i got the software to open.

I am really excited to run the new esc, esp. with the Regionals race around the corner, but this issue could seriously hamper my efforts. I have been a SP Fanboy for a long time and I've been very pleased with my GT 2.0 and LPF versions prior. I hope these don't disappoint.

-Going back to my prior comments, The LED/LCD boxes don't store any software correct, they just read what is on the ESC. So if I wanted to have 2 different MOD profiles and I had 2 separate LCD boxes, I wouldn't be able to switch w/o a computer or the Bluetooth device to use with a tablet, correct?

Shouldn't be an issue. I even run it on an old Dell Netbook using XP.

Is the fan or something plugged into the ESC when you connect it?

This sounds basic, but are you holding down the RESET button to initiate the update before connect the LCD box?

Sorry I'm not sure what you are asking here.

Is the fan unplugged? It should like the box and PC software are installed and working if the R is able to do these steps. The 1.1 should be the same unless something is plugged in like the fan or the wireharness between the box and ESC is backwards.

I also had this very same issue. Weeks of back and fourth trying to get things squared away. Had to email the kinggolden address several times to get a response. Sometimes livechat would respond sometimes not.

The address for returns should be:

Albert Mui
Speed Passion
PO Box 6224
Chicago, IL 60680

I've copied this directly from my current RMA email confirmation. Which took some doing to get it done.

I also feel stuck, I like the products, good design, good value, but the service and support could really use some help. I'd like to see a little more QC and durability on the ESCs and motors though. I've had a couple of DOA or almost DOA products. When you buy something new and it doesn't work right out of the box we expect to be taken care of ASAP. We shouldn't have to chase after you. Just my two cents here...

nexus: Wouldn't it have been easier to just give this customer the return address in your reply? Why tell him to go back and check etc...?

I literally pulled the ESC out of the box and connected it. (fan is still in the pkg) I think I read conflicting info, does the ESC need to be connected via the Receiver connection TO the LCD box, or can you update the LCD box w/O connecting the ESC? Also, When do you "let go" of the Reset button? Holding it while plugging in the USB and once connected let go? (I also tried Safe Mode as well)

Sorry I'm not sure what you are asking here.
I'll try and explain: When I do the software install for the USBDRIVER INSTALL, it has stated that the driver is already installed (I have also tried clearing the driver out using the ADD/REMOVE in Control Panel- and as recently as last night, it would Lock up and NOT uninstall.)
(I plan to try an install on a different Laptop- Dell machine running Vista- tonight)

The fan is still in the packaging, I'm still trying to just get an update to the ESC before I even wire it up to the motor. It's literaly loose as if I just opened the box. I have 2 (1 intended for my B4.2 and the 2nd one for my B44.1) and I have tried both LCD boxes with the same result.

I am re-watching the video, and as i stated above, I plan to try doing the install on a Dell LT tonight.

Maybe a simpler guide of WHEN to connect the ESC and LCD box.

1) Launch Software
2) Connect LCD box to PC via USB
3) Connect ESC to LCD/LED

I guess I'm still trying to get the order down, so my apologies if I come across as a little dense.

question, Can I adjust the dragbrake on a SP stock club race? What else can I adjust with this esc using the program box? Im asking because I ordered one and the stock club race specs only states only drrs and voltage cut off adjustment.

If you look at Pg 4 of the manual, it lists those items under the ("STOCK0/Blinky mode) that are adjustable and can be changed.

like:
-Brake force
-ABS
-Voltage cut
etc.

The Boost and other timing is not available, but I believe you can still adjust how "Hard" the throttle response is- Mild to aggressive.

MOmo let me see if I can make a quick video or find a screen capture software to show the process.

Everything sounds correct and it would be very odd/rare for two cards to be bad.
