Anyone ever figure out the weak brake feeling with the Reventon Pro 1.0? I've tried reflashing the stock 0 firmware multiple times, rewired it with TQ Wires, adding different caps, as well as pairing it with a SP motor, Orca TX motor, and a Thunder Power (all 17.5)and still have very little brakes. I have let a few different very experienced drivers test drive and also take a shot at settings and still we all agree, soft brakes. Anyone ever get the Pro to have good strong brakes? This is my last ditch effort before I purchase an orca esc and sell my Sp gear. Heck have 3 diff SP reventon esc's and all seem to have weak brakes.

xray t4, running on asphalt, 17.5 blinky, stock v20 profile. I have tried from 10% to 100% brake force and all feels the same as 10%. in mod 1 and the new boost stock profile the brakes are fine but not in stock 0. tx is futaba 4pl, rx is r203gf, solar servo, lipo setup. tried various neutral range setting, lipo cutoff on and off, temp cutoff on and off, drag brake 0% to max and so on.

Another silly question? Can you use the program card/box that comes with the revention S alone to program the ESC or do you HAVE to connect it to a PC? i'm looking to use one for 17.5 blinky so will basically set and forget. Is the program card the same between the 'R' and 'S' models. Is there any benefit in going for the 'R' over the 'S' for 2wd 17.5 blinky. I'm more concerned about reliability than any performance gains. Thanks.

IF you plan to ONLY use it for 17.5, then you would load the Stock0/1 software on the Box. As I understand, Only using the computer will allow you to customize some of the settings that have additional options rather than just the increments indicated on the Sticker. (IE Drag break on the LED box is 0,10, 20,30, etc.) using the software on the computer directly connected to the ESC, you might adjust the Drag break to 27. make sense?
I have several Reventons, I have a couple LED cards. One I have strictly for my drift car, so I have it loaded with the DRIFT software. My my Citrix Stock for club racing, I have one thats stock. I also just picked up 2 Pro 1.1s. One the LCD card that came with those I plan to load MOD software. If you have more than one and you run varying classes, its best to have a card for each software you are using.
I am now the happy owner for 3 new Reventon ESCs. 2 Reventon 1.1, and a Reventon R. I will be updating the software shortly, but I wondered if my fellow SP brethren have any tips for indoor Carpet using MOD? One of them is going into my 4.2 and the other into my 44.1. I was looking at the software setups online, but nothing more recent than Jan.
Also, can anyone running AE vehicles post up their wiring and positioning? I am curious if people favor going over the top of the top plate or under it. For those using it in the B4.2, are you Inline or running off the side?
Can't wait to start sharing my findings.

With all of the people that are having trouble, including me, I would think a simpler method could be found at changing profiles?
The brakes are non-existent on my R as well and I am having no luck with downloading anything.

[QUOTE=Nexus;13368452]Please explain it again. I reread some post and it got me.more confused. You can connect the ESC to a PC but you want to install older softer/firmware?
@Nexus: Wow, I'm surprised you took the time to even respond. For whatever reason whenever I have trouble with your products or service or both, it takes days and days to respond. Sometimes not at all. Do you work for Speed Passion in an official support capacity? I plan to contact Speed Passion directly after I try a new site of wires.
Speed Passion = shitty support.

The LCD/LED program are loaded with software from the factory. (Can't tell you what software comes std) but Only by connecting it to the computer can you adjust and change the software on the box. You can ALSO change the software on the ESC using the computer going thru the Box.

As far as I understand and from what I have seen, the program is loaded directly on to the ESC. There is no program of any kind loaded on the blue LED box. The only thing loaded on the box is the interface software, which has occasional updates that need to be loaded onto it. The programs that you use on the ESC (ie. stock0, Mod1, etc) can only be changed thru the computer. Settings WITHIN those programs can be modified either through the PC, the LED box, or the Bluetooth/WiFi modules and a phone.
You can use any LED box on any Reventon ESC with any program loaded. I only carry 1 of my boxes with me at any time and I have used it to adjust Stock 1, Stock 0, and Mod1 ESC's during the same day. I have also loaned it to guys running a fixed 17.5 system for a sportsman class. You only see the settings which are loaded on the ESC already.
As for how hard/easy it is to update... If you have a PC or laptop, its a piece of cake to make changes once the software is all installed and set up. IT IS a pain in the ass to initially download and install all of the pieces of software you need, but it is super easy to use once it is up and running. The only bad part is not being able to swap programs without a PC at the track (ie if I want to go from blinky to boosted, need a laptop).
Oh, and I have that weak brake issue also. Mine has an instant surge of braking, then it dies to almost nothing. Luckily I run Oval so I don't really use the brakes, but I know what you guys are talking about, and it IS annoying.

I have only owned a few Reventon Pro 1.0 and 1.1's, but I believe you are wrong.

I could have mis spoke. I thought the lcd box had a bit of internal memory that saaved the various program, Realizing that it IS reading the esc, and not whats on the box.
When I try and open the Reventon software while hooked to the lcd and esc, the options for making changes only appearon the LCD Box only, my software doesnt open. I am running it on an xp machine.

Well since it seems the brake mystery is still ongoing I guess I will ditch the 3 Sp ESC's I have and switch to the orca vx that I test drove this past weekend. Too bad because I liked the gear otherwise. Haha kept upgrading hoping more amps would give me the braking I was missing. Started with the club ESC, then bought a Reventon R, and finally a Rev Pro. Guess they need to work on the Stock0 profile because in Stock1 and MOD1 I have tons of braking. Anyone want to buy a lightly used REV R (2 races) or Rev Pro (3 races and new TQ wires)?

I run 21.5 and 17.5 with a 417x.
Hope we can get things going for you. I saw you were running v20...you could try erasing ALL the current Speed Passion software on your PC then install the newest release V1.1.0.24. This should let you install Stock0 V21
