Right now it is listed for about $70 (30% off) on the site to buy it and I would be tempted to do it just to see what it was like, but the $40 shipping is crazy... Now I need to find 3-4 more people willing/nuts enough to share shipping so I can try and order one of these to motors to find out
Did you log in and go through the process of purchasing? It shouldn't be $40 once you enter in address and shipping options.

can we talk about this some more ... Did you update the firmware with Hw or SP ? When you update the esc to the new firmware , which one did you use thats comparable to Hybridboost ? The newer HW Software? Once you do that , can you change the firmware back and forth on the box to still program other HW esc's ?

I saw it was able to run a 1 cell LIPO but that's it.

The EX does 1Cell operation without a booster or receiver pack. The EX also comes with the High Power Capacitor, and it's black. It does not come with a Program Card, however.

I just ordered two of them to replace my current 1.0 Pro's. Black-anodized parts are faster.

Thanks for the input on the Reventon Pro 1.1 Ex.

I'm thinking about picking up another ESC from Speed Power as an early Xmas present to myself. Is it worth spending the extra $20-$30 for the Reventon Pro 1.1 over the original Pro 1.0, especially when I can't get it as part of a combo?

You do get the lower profile ESC with the 1.1, as well as better internals. It's not that much more than the 1.0, and with the holiday deal going it's going to be cheaper than normal anyway.

Just to clarify, it's only a 2pole motor. That's a typo on the site. I've been running my 5700 for nearly a year and the thing is a beast! I don't think you will be disappointed.

Another update....latest V24 interface. Including the long waiting V21 BLINKY software just got ROAR approval. However, we are still waiting ROAR to list it on their website so you might not see it listing the V21 on the site and IF your track is concern about the ROAR approval status, please keep using the V20 software from your previous download.

EX customer............they must use the V23.5 interface or this current V24 interface. Anything before the V23.5 interface will NOT WORK.

Key feature of the EX is....aiming for 12th scale racing, but can also run with 2 cells....cannot do 3 cells like V1.1 PRO does. And yes, it is BLACK, it is faster (depends on your personal like....LOL) Also...the EX, come standard with the used to be optional SUPER CAP. Bonus.....however, it does not come with the LCD programmer card as we thought most ppl are REVENTON current customer and they might more then 1 LCD card laying around. But purchasing the EX on our direct sale site, for extra $10, we will throw in the LCD as a special....that LCD card retail is $28 USD.

Good luck racing everyone.....and please visit our new online store at SPEED POWER RC (see below link)

Both will be great ESCs. A combo is always a great deal if you also need the motor.

Decide soon while we still have the sale on Speed Power's website

Looks like I have some updates to install before this weekend's race.

I just saw this motor for the first time too, it looked very promising at first glance, but someone pointed out to me on a thread from another forum that it uses 4mm bullets instead of solder tabs

It's common knowledge at the tracks in my area that the male ends of bullet connectors fail over time, so experienced racers typically solder the wires directly from the ESC to the motor to avoid this headache.

does anyone know if the embedded male bullets inside the can are replaceable?

I have a SP Stock Club Race 17.5 combo and last night when I got hit hard there was no drive power for up to 3 seconds. It happened 3 times in 2 different races. It was like the power got shut off except I could still operate the steering. I just had no drive. Any ideas what could be the problem?
