Brent and I are both running the 22 rear springs on the front and rear of our SC10. I started with silver up front and grey rear. Switched to yellow in the rear. Gonna try orange up front tomorrow. It seems the rear 22 springs translate pretty close to the AE rear spring rates, but when running the 22 rear springs on the front of an SC10, it is a little off. I was running ae blue fronts and ae green rear, which would be close to losi black or blue for the front, and losi White or yellow for the rear. But the front was way to stiff and had way too much spring/lift with anything higher than losi silver. I like losi yellow in the back a lot. Now just gotta find the right spring for the front. Might have to pick up some 22T front springs.
on the pinions/spurs I have pinion size 14T to 35T Spur I have 72,78,81,84,87... a few of each |
How often should I rebuild my diff if I race 3x a week. I just rebuilt mine after a few weeks. But it didn't feel too bad I was just going thru my noisy tranny and did it since I was in there .

Going to try Yellow rear and most likely orange/silver front. |

Shock for SC10 - no more leaky associated shocks
I want get away from the associated shocks because I am tired of their leaks, and sprig rub etc.
I don't want to spend too much money (proline, etc). I have noticed that you can get Slash shocks on ebay for cheap. Does anybody know if the Slash 4x4 Platinum Big Bore Aluminum Shocks 6804 would fit? I might even be open to making a custom shock tower to make it work. Thanks |

Hey Guys. Just getting back into rc cars after a 3 year lull while flying 3d planes. I unloaded most my stuff to pay for plane stuff, but I still have an 8ight that's been collecting dust and cat hair. Anyhow, to the point. I just bought a new 8ight 2.0........and more to the point, an AE SC10 Factory Team with Mamba Max Pro, an LRP X12 17.5, Hitec HS-7985MG and a couple of Gens Ace 2S 5000mah 30c packs to run in the stock class, so I can get back into the swing of racing. So the I was just reading through the discussion of gearing, and wanted to get a recommendation for the above setup. The track I'll run on is fairly technical with very few straightaways, with the longest being about 50 feet. I'm just looking for a good starting point. This info may be in the manual.....but I my kit has not gotten here yet...and if so, I apologize....but Kinda want to have all this ready for when I get it. thanks.

What are the best 12mm adapters for this car? I just acquired a ton of tires for the blitz which are 12mm wheels.

this may be a stupid question, but if AE sells rear sways for this truck, why can't I find anyone that runs them?

I have V1 shocks, losi/kyosho springs, GEHA spring collars, mine don't leak a drop, and since I changed to big bore springs, I could care less if AE ever comes out with the big bore shocks.
I had ride height problems before I got the GEHA collars. |

if u have V2 shocks u need to read this, i did the kyosho o-rings and not a drop have i lost since i did it |
I misspelled. This is where I got my collars for adapting to big bore springs:

That's very similar to the setup my son was racing on his SC10. Gearing was somewhere between 20/84 all the way up to 25/84. We ran CHEAT with up to 40% at a very low RPM in order to clear a double that was right on the exit of a hair pin. The truck was easier to drive with the taller gears but motor temp would climb when he was practicing.
