Nice trucks! Here is a shot of my FT I'm running. Tekin RS with a 8.5 Tekin motor, love it! Im thinking of going back to the stock SC10 front bumper. Any opinions on the RPM one? I think its a bit heavy for my liking.

Never liked the RPM Bumper. I have always used the stock SC10 bumper with no major issues. I broke a chassis once but the top plate was cracker first so it was not a surprise when I lofted the truck 8 feet in the air and landed between two 6" tubes which stopped the truck instantly. The look of the stock bumper is much better to me.

I even use the SC10 bumper on my Jammin for the same reasons. No broken bumpers any more!!

I'll tell you what's heavy is those stock front tires. I weighed them once and they were like 60 grams each heavier than subcultures.

Yup, your right. The other night I couldn't get anything to work up front and in desperation I tried the stockers. They got the job done, but I hate them.

I've been running it, but I don't like the RPM bumper. It sticks out too much. I will say it saved my front end this weekend. The track changed to a new layout and it's got big jumps and a section where there are multiple ways to jump it. I can only do it two ways, but Maifield showed us that there is at least four. While trying different combos I lawn darted a few times and watch multiple guys break! I didn't and I hit hard!! It works, but I still want to go to the stock SC10 bumper.
I noticed your in San Diego, What track you race at down in Chula Vista?

Converted back to the stock bumper from the RTR just for the weight savings. So far so good, but I don't have a lot of races on it yet. You just don't here of folks breaking chassis too much any more. That being said, I'm keeping the RPM on my kid's SC10 for now:D

After I broke my first stock bumper I switched to RPM. Once the screws pulled out of my top plate using the rpm, I tried the T-bone. Once I started digging and flipping over due to it's low design and unsmooth bottom, I went back to stock.

I think the best way to go is stock front and rear with the addition of the FN Cuda brace to protect the chassis, then keep a spare stock front bumper in the tool kit in case you break it.

I race mostly at SDRC North, its the largest indoor track anyplace I have seen so far. I know for sure its the largest clay indoor in California. They also have a nice outdoor called SDRC South. Its about the same size at the Nitro Pit, only the dirt is not as nice, its real hard on tires and your chassis. Maybe two race days is all I get for tires, and its 8th scale and 5th scale only down there.

This is my honest opinion in regards to the RPM front bumper kit. It provides great support and added protection to your SC10's chassis. However, I do agree that it is a bit bulky and heavy. If a driver is in the beginning stages of their racing career, it is a good idea to use the RPM kit. If you are still wrecking a decent amount, it is worth putting up with the bulkiness of it, for the protection you will gain and will most likely need. Then, as you get a bit better, and not wrecking much (and your wrecks are less severe), switch over to the original one. I really believe it is as simple as that. Just be honest with yourself about how good of a driver you are. I have talked to a lot of guys off the track who tell me they are decent drivers, and then when I see them on the track, they are wrecking all over the place and give their truck wayyyyy too much throttle all the time. After about 7 months of racing, I am still running the RPM bumper and know that I have a lotttt to learn, I am definitely still a beginner :nod:

My rear camber is set at -2 degrees, but in the pic it looks funky. No battery in the truck, and I had just set it down.

I am hoping to race it this weekend, but need tires...

Ah smokes!! I grew up in Mira Mesa and worked near there as well. That looks nice. I may have to stop in the next time I'm out visiting.

Acill where did you get that front bumper i am looking for 1 for my sc10 2wd FT.

Recently put losi xxx sct shocks on my sc10, will see how it goes :D

I have a FT and just won a sc10rs for my son. I was wondering what hex kit will let me run the rs wheels on my FT without changing the width? Will the new Avid kit work? Lots seem to like it. Also are the shocks better on the RS then the FT? Thanks
