And with the same settings in the esc the reedy sonic has out preformed them all. The viper would be my second choice than the lrp and the Novak last. I am waiting on my revtech 17.5 so I will let u know.

My fantom apex 17.5 which is a revtech is far better then any I have tried.

KV ratings tell you next to nothing when comparing different brand 17.5 motors. The biggest influence on these high turn motors is the mechanical timing on the motor and no default timing is the same. Heck, 0 degrees is rarely the same. Unfortunately, experience and testing is the only way to determine what motor will be the most powerful for you.

Hi guys, I decided to get a 2wd SC truck to go with my 4wd. I'm going with the FT SC10. I just want to know how these are durability wise right out of the box? I'm not the type to buy any hopups untill something breaks and it becomes neccesary. Is there any major issues with the FT version? Any info is much appreciated.

That is good news.

I just got off the phone with a series operator at the local tracks and it looks like the Spec stock ESC are the way to go now-a-days. Novaqk GTB2 is one.
All the guessing goes away from boost/timing added for the 17.5T or 13.5T classes.

Right now I am getting ready to pull the plug and order a combo.
It's Either
Novak GTB2 Ballistic 17.5T (currently have a Havoc and 13.5T)
Viper VTX10 with a VST 17.5
LRP ESC and Sonic motor.
Or
Trinity motor paired to I have no idea ESC

Yes and I read on their sites that the Fantom motors are not fully compatible with come Novak ESC's.

This is true. I use the Tekin RS. It's a great speedo. I can run 17.5 blinky then throw in my 13.5 and with 2 pushes of a button run it in boosted mod. that's what I do with my b4.1. You can turn the motor timing up more on the revetechs which help in the blinky class.

All the fast guys around here run the Revtech's, including sponsored drivers.

I run a Novak which is pretty quick and I like that it's rebuildable. Just watch your endbell timing!

I keep mine about 3 clicks past center. In my b4.1 geared to a 5.5 fdr it comes off at 120. I also have the 12.5 high torque rotor in it which helps the low end punch.

will the rpm losi spring cups work as well for the AE springs?

how much total timing? I need to get a buggy too.

Okay. I'm pulling my hair out.

I see a Traxxas Top spacer, and if I use a Losi Cup, this is setup right.

BUT what springs are they using?

http://www.rccaraction.com/blog/2011...ew-avid-parts/

Losi is so stupid with their part numbers and re-releasing crap that it's impossible.

Is it the TEN line of shocks?

Or are they using the 22 line?

Ahh!

Brent I was using a Lrp sxx and I switched to the viper. I will never go back. This thing is super smooth the new firmware makes it easy to calibrate. The ore programmed settings are great and with the pro gauge there are a ton of options.

I use the Traxxas top and the cup. They are the TLR 22 springs. Looks like he is using the pink fronts. I use the silver on the front of my b4.1, and the yellow or pink rears. Here is a picture of the TLR spings on my SC10

I believe it is at 30* when on center. Then you can have a total of 80* maxed out. With mine at 3 clicks past center its about 48*. I think thats right.
