I think the shocks are okay. The V2 versions are easier to rebuild when the o rings get old. I have V1.

so you need that kit upper collars and lower cups and that's all?
how much better does it feel running those springs? how do they match up rate wise to AE? I.E. what would be the equivalent to AE green springs ? I'd like to do them all the way around. |

so the Losi bottoms help with the rubbing? I noticed it does it on only one of my rear shocks. I'm sure it doesn't affect handling that much but the fact that it is doing it is annoying.

The rubbing doesn't affect the function of the shocks. Run the F/T V2 shocks, they are the best option for that kit IMO.

Back in the dark ages when I ran all Losi and everyone else ran AE (now it's the other way around, I guess I'm still the nonconformist), we used to buy the upper collars and throw the cups away (we'd waste the collars). Who knew I'd need the cups. You have to work the AE springs onto the cups slightly, but it is an improvement.
I run AE springs with Losi bottoms. They are much more liner when you can keep them square and off the shocks. And before I stir the pot too hard, I want to state without equivocation: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH AE SHOCKS OR SPRINGS. However, any spring that binds/drags on the shock body is bad. Gonna think about running like Jerz616 or just using the cups and running my AE springs. Hm. Not alot of obvious atvantage. Guess price will come into effect. |
not sure if anybody else has done but I talked to a member who put the sc10 4x4 shocks on his ride and said it worked great for outdoor. I think he had to adjust the pistons and oiling to get it right, i'm thinking bout doing that to experiment.
