Hello,
what would be the equivalent rating of brushless sensorless motor to the std. RTR motor on the SC10?..13.5 or 17.5 or?? Thanks. |
hey malc,
your brace is on it's way! mount it under the front skidplate. yeh man, they're goin global too.:sneaky: |
First I want to thank everyone here for their posts. Started reading from the beginning about a week ago and just got done. Lots of set up help guys, thanks a ton.
Got the front end to stop pushing so hard - its dailed now. Running Goosebumps in the back and broken in stockers on the front. Now that the front is doing so well the back is getting a tad loose. Its not uncontrollable by any means, but we have and S trun right before the straight that ends with a small bump incline that requires control to do quickly. Jumping on the throttle out of this near stop turn fishtails a little and have to watch it. Decent enough driver to keep accellerating, but getting it dailed would certainly help lap times. Have already made traction adjustments to the rear with longer links and arm level suspension, but was wondering if the ball diff from my T4 would help that even more. Know couple have tried, but want to know if its really worth it. Maintenance will be more tear down in this truck to keep up with it, but if its really worth it would love to get the rear dialed in. Biggest inprovements: 30 degree front caster blocks and rear tires. Laying the front shocks down helped tremendously as well. |

Thanks. here is an answer from another thread; " That's a good "rule of thumb" but in reality, your list could be offset by one 27T brushed -> 17.5 brushless 19T brushed -> 13.5 brushless 13T brushed -> 10.5 brushless 10T brushed -> 6.5 brushless 7T brushed -> 3.5 brushless going from 27t brushed to 13.5 brushless was a huge leap in gearing for me at my local track. I went from 8.2 down to 5.1" |

thanks craig look forward to getting it.
why do they use turns on brushless motors as I thought it was just to give people equivalents with brushed motors as shouldnt brushless motors be judged on kv? Thanks. they don't have to get the power across to the spinning arm with a brush rubbing on it, you can power the windings directly. A BL motor still has wire windings, the reason for the count. Wire size, number of strands and few other things I don't know about all add up to the current mystery. KV is simply freewheel RPM per volt, that doesn't tell you much about the way it makes power with a load? |
awesome thanks for clearing that up.:)
I would have thought a 10.5 brushless would smoke the 17t in the sc10? |

Generally 13.5 is the 19 turn brushed equivalent, your motor is 17 turn so closer to 10.5 BL.
|
yeah thats what I thought to:nod:

The RTR 17 turn is a hunk of junk. I would compare it more to a 27turn.

I've got a great SC10 roller with extras for sale. Check it out:

It's junk but easily as fast as a decent 19T. Although, I've seen a guy tune a Komodo Dragon (19T locked endbell) to hang with my GTB 5.5 That's why it can be tough to nail down a brushless equivalent. That's not even considering the junk 10T motors that some RTRs come with. Those might as well be considered stock motors too. ;)
One of my friends bought a 19T and ran his Slash with it in Mod SC and he was just a tick faster than my SC10 with a 13.5 down the straight, about equal everywhere else. |

The motor that blows me away is the slash 550 12T, How in the world did they make a 12T so slow?
