I am geared fairly slowly for a 4S setup, only around 36 mph.
I'm running the 1900 in my RC8e with 46/18 on a smaller indoor track. Plenty of power, no heat issues.

Default IT WAS THE BATTERY!

Randy
Its Jake I was the one who asked what was wrong when you get no chime or lights...
Well it turned out it was not the ESC it was the battery thats why it was not arching.
New batt and no standing voltage in process of checking batt for a open. So glad it was not the ESC.

I wanna get running but cant afford another 5000 5s. So would a 4s work ok with a truggy 5500 motor. If yes whats the gearing? I mostly run at SRS and the Nitro pit in Phoenix AZ.

Thanks in advance

Jake

I would start with a 50/14 That will put you at the 90mph mark. Should be pretty racy!

Jake, I hope you don't have a 5500 motor?!

If you meant 2050 try 46/15 in the Losi. If you meant 2000 it's about the same. If you're going to 2250 try a 14.

What's you run time?
Would you make a 20 min main?

I plan am running 16/16 RC8 ( gonna be with a 1900 ) w/ 6500 Max Amps 30C.

Am I under geared at 16?

I'm running the 1900 combo in an RC8E with 2 (2s) TP5000 packs geared at 46/14 (I just went up to a 16t but haven't run it yet) We ran a 12 minute main on a large track and I put 2830 back into each pack. Hopefully I'll get to try the 16t on Saturday and have a better understanding of how much runtime to expect.

OK, that's more like it.

1550 in the buggy on 4s I'd be looking pretty big like say 43/18 to start out. Low timing at first and see how it feels on 4s with that gearing. If it's feels pretty good but is lacking some snap and top end bring up your timing to 20-25 and go out again.

I haven't tried that combo yet...I bet it's wicked driveable and fast lap times because of it!
