finaly got most of the bugs worked out of my jammin today

took first in the B by 3 laps on EVERYONE and finished dead last in the A by 2-3 laps because I literly blew a tire, no foam, it was still half atatched

the B was 15min, the A was 20, both were ran back to back I finished with 300mah left in my batts

but now I have a BIG problem... when I turn the esc on, it MIGHT turn on and arm(50/50) but when I get on the throttle it goes ~2 feet and dies, no lights, no nothing, and the RX turns off.

what I'v done
bypass the switch
try a new batt
make sure there are no kinks in the wire

I fear my esc might be dead

If you have ruled out everything but the esc for the problem, open the case and check the pot on the underside of the lower board. If you have had any serious chassis smackers and the solder didn't quite flow into the joints it may be loose.

Contact [email protected] or call monday morning: 208 634 5559 is the main office.

Safe motor temps are 185 and lower.

If you esc drives your motor without the sensor harness plugged in make sure you've got the motor wired correctly. A to A, B to B, C to C.

now on with my first run on the track.

went to get some practice in today and the tekin ran flawless. very smooth and powerful temps were good and there was no cogging what so ever.

Can I bypass the switch on the RX8 (solder the wires together) so I don't have to worry about that little switch failing on me? Will I still be able to program it with the hotwire if it is on all the time?

Also, the rotor shaft seems a tad short for my 8ight-E. Is anyone having any issues with this. I am not too worried about it. But, I'd like it to be longer. I'm just curious if it's normal.

Last, I ended up getting a 2050kv. I wanted the 1900kv but I got a good deal on this one. I'm looking for a good starting setup for the ESC.

Any help would be appreciated!

thanks,
Ben

I need a race setup for a medium size track and I need to make 15 minute mains. I want something very easy to drive so I was thinking 4s with 1700kv or even the 1550 truggy motor mounted in a RC8 or 8ight 2.0. As long as I have something that will generate the same power or bit more power and top speed as a Sportwerks V2 engine I'll have plenty of power to race with.

Default fan and hotwire settings

Randy,

If I remember correctly you said that you trim the leading edge of your fans this helps them last longer? Can you please post up a pic so I can see how much you trimmed. Also I am putting the 1350 in a 8ight 2.0t on 6s geared 43/14, I've been running it on a MMonster but since I just found the esc's instock I have one of them comming in along with the hotwire. Can you please suggest settings on the hotwire?

Default Big Thumbs Up To Tekin!

Thanks to Tekin for making an awesome 1/8 system! I raced my new RX8/T8 (2050) system for the first time yesterday in my Caster Fusion and beat my old track record by a full lap! Even better is that I was on a pace to beat my old record by 3 full laps for the first 5 minutes until I eased up to get through lap traffic cleanly.

Last year I ran a converted RC8 with the "green" ESC and "black" motor. (No names mentioned to protect the innocent) lol I found the Tekin system to be so much smoother on the bottom end and it has incredible rip on the top end.

Even though I was a tad overgeared, the T8 came off after the 10 minute main at 120* and the RX8 at 102*. Ambient temp was around 90* +/-.

Again, awesome job by Tekin! If anyone reading this thread is on the fence about buying one of these systems, trust me, you'll be glad you bought it.
