I used to use 40c batteries but if 200c will work I would like to try.
Don't know how many amps that setup pulls sorry, but I have been running that setup in my Losi 8E for over a year with cheap Turnigy 20c 5000 batterys, along with many others here, and never had any issues power or runtime wise, have even run ten minutes with gas Buggys, with no issues at all. Hope that is some help.

4s 20c 5000 is only 100amp. (mah x .0c = 5000 x .02)

40c is 200amp. (5000 x .04)

Usually want no less than 125a, but some say 150a.

What radio system are we working with?

Which exact receiver? Servo?

Are you using a stand alone BEC?

Same exact set-up in the same car for about 3 years. Seemed to start after I updated the software in December. That could be purely coincidence.

No bec but could probably use one. Pt dims but has never missed a lap.

Hi all. What runs better, 1700kv on 5s, or 1900kv on 4s? I currently have 1700kv on 4s in a buggy, it was bought from someone else. Looking to change, but not sure if batteries or motor? Keep hearing this "voltage is your friend" and want to go 5s, but not sure??

I don't race, may hit up the track but dont have to follow any 4s rules or anything

Just looking for what runs better in my ve8

Thanks

If you don't have to follow roar rules, go for the 5s pack.

My concern is that the esc doesn't need the servo in ANY way to power up. Have you tried another receiver?

Another idea is to plug the esc into ch1 and leave the servo unplugged. What is that result?

Tried again. Different savox servo, diffrent receiver, tried different channels, tried without a servo, tried without pt. Result is still the same. Esc will not arm unless I quickly actuate a servo. Once I do that all is well.

Also not sure why I said m4. It's an m11 transmitter.

Thanks. Would 6s be too crazy?

Only asking because 6s and 5s batteries appear to be similar in mah, size, weight.. just asking.

6s is too much for the 1700kv motor. Just make sure you drop a couple teeth on the pinion when you jump from 4s to 5s as you will literally have 25% more rpm.

I'm trying to get a better understanding of push control since I've never played with it before.

1) How long is the duration between throttle to neutral?
2) How much throttle is applied during the time frame?
3) If I increase or decrease push control am I lengthening/shorting the "ramping down" duration or the amount of throttle being applied over a fixed time?

Thanks guys.

Ok, that is very odd. Do you happen to have a receiver pack or a 4aa pack that came with your radio laying around? We can try to plug that into the receiver to test the bec. If the BEC isn't working the system will function normally with the battery pack plugged in.

1) How long is the duration between throttle to neutral? There is essentially an "up" timer that counts how much time spent at 100% throttle. The more time spent, the longer the PC pulse is.
2) How much throttle is applied during the time frame? This depends on the amount of push set.
3) If I increase or decrease push control am I lengthening/shorting the "ramping down" duration or the amount of throttle being applied over a fixed time? You're increasing the "power" of the push. The "time" is calculated every time WOT is seen.

Thanks guys.
