Tekin RX8 1/8 Scale Brushless ESC Thread

Hello Randy,
I have a RX8 (https://www.teamtekin.com/manuals/tws_manual_rx8.pdf) this unit has never been used until now, it was sitting in my parts box for a few years. I’m unable to change throttle profile or anything in the I have done a factory reset on it but it would still not go in the quick tune mode. When I press the mode button I do not see any LED’s (as it should) If I press the mode button 5 or more times it goes in celebrate mode. At startup, the unit boots up with the correct number of chimes, then connects with my TX properly.
Please let me know if there is anything I should try.
I sent you an email last week about this issue but haven't received any reply yet.

This works only if you aren't using a sensor cable. If you want the sensors to be used for startup and low rpm, reversing the rotation needs to be done in hotwire.

I don't have the hotwire adapter. I figured out the issue, my motor was running backwards. Switching direction on the radio did not have the same effect, so I switched the wires at the motor terminals to reverse its direction. I was able to get in the quick tune mode once I disconnected the sensor cable. Is it absolutely necessary to drive with the sensor cable attached? What performance compromises would I see (if any) ?

What car is this in? Can you flip the differentials to change the tire direction?

I run a rx8 gen 2 in my drag car and after I turn it on it shuts off and turns on by itself, I hooked it to my computer and reset everything.
Also my reciever doesnt lose power just the esc goes off and on by itself

If this is happening on the bench we need to see the leds while it happens. What the leds are doing specifically tells us a lot to help with diagnosis.

If you want to run the RX8 with a sensored motor terminated to run in reverse you will need the hotwire to reverse the sensors to be able to use the sensored mode in reverse phase.

This past weekend I was having problems losing power to my speed control. It happened with 4 different battery packs so isn't likely to be a battery issue. I use 5mm bullet connections (very tight in the batteries) direct to the battery and all solder joints are good. It has worked flawlessly the two seasons prior to this. I lose steering and throttle. Motor temps are 140-145 and the ESC runs 103-108. Tested it out again yesterday (no other vehicles on track) and when it shut down, it made the beeps like it does when you first power it up (think it did that twice back to back but I'm not positive). No lights on the ESC to provide a fault code (I can't recall if the fan was still spinning or not). Turning it off/on restores power and everything works as normal again.
