I run the Pro4 4000kv motor with no issues in an SC104x4 that has the heavier exotek chassis.
software wise, if I recall I am using one of the newer MOD softwares but will be going with the new Stock one since it seems using turbo for more RPM down the straight is common now, and keeps temps down versus going up in pinion size.

I recently started running Speed Passion (Silver Arrow V2) in my Losi 8ight. Very impressed with it so far. If it outlasts my RX8 (7 months on avg), then Speed Passion will have a new very loyal customer.

based on what was suggested to me I am going to try the 428 stock one.
However if you are concerned about using a stock software (basically using it to get the supercharger and boost features) I think the 518 or whatever its called one was made to help with temps in 4x4 SCT usage. At least, thats what I was told and I believe that is what is on the ESC right now.
For the group I was running with, I went with a 2 tooth pinion size change (13 - 15T) and temps were about as high as I would want to go on the motor. I am thinking though with the super charger software, that will give me the top end I need but keep temps at a better level by going back down in pinion size.

I have tried 3 different motors, and 3 different sensor cables, 2 different steering servos, and the car still will not go forward from a complete stop. It will reverse but not go forward, and I still have steering. After feathering the trigger for a minute or two it will go forward. The problem is intermittent. When I first turn the car on and place it on the track it is ok. While racing it is ok, but if the car comes to a complete stop, it won't go forward until it sits for a minute or two. I don't have another esc to try. I am using V3.0 120428Stock software, a Futaba 2.4 radio/receiver, Racers Edge Glitch Buster glitch buster, and Revtech motors. Any suggestions?

, just as I started to launch from a triple that has to be taken at full speed. I hit his ankle on landing, and the impact tore off the right front suspension arm, as well as breaking the nose of the chassis.
So, it'll be a few days before I can try that.
