Thanks for the kind words guys -- Lee was pretty awesome yesterday, little luck and we could be having a different discussion today. He is excited for 4wd. When the chassis companies allow me to post pics of the cars, I will show you how they have the 4wd's wired up.
Both guys are running the VTX10R BE. Travis is going to test with the Pro Caps on first - Lee hasn't used them before in 1/10 so he is going to wait to see if he needs it.

Yup. Definitely post any questions on the VTX1. Been loving mine in my 1/12th Scale and has been perfect in my TC. I just helped switch a good friend over to VTX1 from countless DNF's due to Receiver pack/external booster issues with his old ESC. He's a happy camper also

what would be a good esc for 1/10 stadium truck and 1/10 4wd buggy respectively, planning on running around a 7.5t motor. I noticed the viper esc's don't have fans and I didn't know if heat would be an issue in these platforms. I am happy with my copperhead for sc and vtx10 for stock buggy. Would like to continue using viper stuff since I already have a progauge.

If your going to run a 7.5 use the R version, no need to push the regular version. Using the VTX10R BE at the Worlds with no fan - 7.5 in 2wd, 6.5 in 4wd. Other companies are running fans even in 2wd.
We prepared for higher heat, Travis has a fan in his 4wd but its only 5-10 degrees cooler than Lee's without.

Well it looks like I killed my VST8.5 some how. I'm having a hard time track down the original purchase date from AMain but I'm guessing that is a good indication that it is over a year old so out of warranty. Is it possible and worthwhile to send a motor in for service?
I'm running this in a B4.2 and have a 7.5t that I can drop in, in its place but honestly the 8.5t was probably too much motor for me...surely don't need to be running a 7.5t
Hmm Edit: ok so $50 for a new motor, just found it on the Viper site.

Trade in programs are cool, I remember back when CEN tried to push there vehicles out there they had a problem to take ANY brand vehicle in, in any condition and you could get there vehicles at a discount.
