I apologize if this has been addressed a long time ago but I recently switched to a VIPER VTX10BE in my SC10. I am running at this weekends Shortcourse Showdown and have zero setup time with this so need a base to start with for the 2wd Stock class 17.5 Blinky. What do you suggest for parameters for the esc. Do you have any setup sheets? Thanks.

I ran a brand new SC with a 13.5 w/ the blinky profile 1 and threw it on the track and just drove.

slashman - looks like they have some answers for you there.....
Also David Fast is one of our Team Drivers he is there this weekend as a representative for us. If you can't find him, ask Scotty or Dave Duncan from J Concepts to point him out to you. David will be able to help you more and answer any questions.
But I would start with Jim's set up!!!

Honestly, I would like to say xxxx weeks, but I would rather wait until they actually shipped to us before I say, only because I don't want to get hopes up until I know its coming. We have actually upped our initial thoughts on first production, because we want to have enough for everyone.

In 17.5 Short Course, I lower the Brake PWM to help it come on harder to adjust the truck in the air. This will change the initial feel, but not the overall level of braking. I also lowered the Throttle PWM to make the 17.5 motor more punchy since adding timing is not allowed. It does not add power or any boost, it just helps it ramp up faster.
With a VTX8, I assume you are either running it in an 1:8 buggy or in a 4wd SC truck and a powerful motor. I would keep the Brake PWM the same, and you might want to raise the Throttle PWM to 12000 from the normal 9600 setting to help smooth out the power delivery.

It changes the feel of how the throttle or the brake come on. The lower the # the harder it hits, the higher the # the smoother it will be.

Here is the ride ready for battle.

Nick I am wondering if and when I need to update my esc firmware.
How and where do I do it?
Is there a way I can get a copy of the esc manual sheet blown up (maybe online some where)? Its hard to read small writing.

One thing I would like you to consider nick in the future as a software update (if possible) is if you are trying to shut down the ESC, regardless if signals or what is perceived as signals are coming in from the radio, you can still shut down the ESC.
I know with my Futaba 4PL, if there is any perceived signals, the ESC will not shut down so I have to basically turn the radio off. To me at least, I can't think of a situation where if I am trying to shutdown the ESC directly that the ESC needs to prevent that from happening if it gets a signal from the radio.
