Its the best way, but you can also just change profiles - if you are using 4 or 5, then go to 3. If using 3 you can try 2. Basically the profiles in the esc are designed to be slightly more aggressive as you go higher

I like the idea of a fan. those traxxas brushed motors with the internal fasns seem to hold up fine to about all the abuse in the world.

set can timing to 40 and watch it fly!

It will work, but common thought process is lower gauge transmits more voltage, which should mean more power. I didn't tell the difference between 12ga and 14ga. But only used 16ga/18ga with my 21.5 F1 car.

As for the new motor development -- best thing I can say, is this..... we aren't going to release one until we have it doing everything we want. We have tested a few different ideas. Each had their own good qualities, but nothing that checks every box just yet. Still working on it.
