OK I will stop trying to make it quieter and just use the new gears and set the mesh. I was just surprised at the difference in the noise level, the SC10 4x4 is quiet in comparison to most 4x4's so that probably made it seem even louder then normal.

Thanks,

FYI - Adding the Copperhead-R to my sons SC10 has brought it back to life. The Velineon runs so smooth with it that I will leave it for now, that motor is about 3 years old but really came back to life with the Copperhead-R.

Graveyard - its getting a voltage spike from somewhere and the system is going into a protection mode. We have seen that the bullet connectors can come loose - causing an arc, that tricks the esc into thinking there is spike - that is why checking those was suggested. You can also lower Punch and Timing settings slightly, as that lessens the total amp draw.

So is there a way to get a better connection? They seem very tight and the other day it was more of a tap than a bump. Later on, I had some major jumps and rolls with no problems at all.
Thanks for the reply

What is the best way to mount the VTX8? I mounted it today in my 1/8 buggy by velcro but still seems to move around abit. Would this matter much? Can't really use zipties in the area it is in.

Mine is mounted with 3M Velcro and its been perfect. It sticks like glue to each side and holds the ESC in nice and tight. The more it moves the tighter it holds, but you can remove it if you need too

I use just a dab of shoe goo and let it dry overnight.

I know I had heard at least one individual use servo tape underneath and seal around the edge with shoe goo. Seems like a pretty good idea. Regular velcro won't be strong enough but 3M makes that tougher stuff that will make a democrat stick to a republican, like Genebaby mentioned. That might be worth a shot too.

Just installed vtx10 and 13.5 motor in my 22. Running indoor carpet, any set up sheets or suggestions as to gearing? Also when will the new line of motors and esc's be out? Hopefully not next week? I just got mine! Lol

Start with profile 3 and your car's manual for 13.5 boosted gearing. If you don't want boost, then run profile 1.

The Black Edition ESC's are fairly new, so I don't expect anything new on that front for a while.

As far as motors go, we are releasing the 8th scale stuff soon ( I think I read July but don't quote me). There hasn't been any official word on 10th scale stuff yet but once we know, you'll know

Perfect, thanks. I went with the orange edition, It fit what I was looking for. Previously I had tekin, a week later gen 2 came out lol. Glad that's not going to happen this time. Will look into getting the motor if one comes out for 1/10th.

Graveyard - I used plier to give the cup an extra squeeze to make sure mine were tight. And try those setting changes as well to help be sure.

myl3s91- the new super, duper, nuclear powered motors will be available on Friday!! hahaha!! Just kidding, don't have a date just yet.

Thanks for the help Bob and everyone!!

Yes, if your really worried about how to attach VTX8, maybe little shoe goo to help hold in place with servo tape in the middle. So far I have just used double sided tape - guess my jumps aren't big enough yet.

Niko, you shouls ask a mod to give you ownership of the thread. Ianstylz did that on the b4.1 thread because the OP was MIA, this would give you control of the content of the first page and get rid of that angry employee post.
