Serpent 710

If you are an experienced driver, likes quick cornering then the cheapest option is to do the Short Wheel Base mod. Go to 3hobby.com, click on Search and search for "mods". The article title is "710: Mods First".

Then I think I'll just order the kit, races it once, and if I feel the need for a shorter whellbase, I do the mod

Hmm, since I only have one season of "real racing" in my hands I wouldn't call me experienced driver

Hi,
That's also quit logical. The new servo saver provides more steering, as well as the short wheel base mod.
Some team drivers here in the NEterlands use the SWB-mod, because of the extra steering it provides.
I would advice all Serpent 710 drivers to make the mod.
It's easy, cheap and (when the car is unbuilt) can be done quick.
Try it and be surprised.

Serpent prefer the new servo saver to the short wheelbase mod, which they have also tested.

I have seen the Serent team testing the new Mega (Picco) engine several times at Heemstede (MACH track).
When they use the unmodified version they don't have as much power as the JP FX-03 optioned, or a RB Rody.
When they do run the modified Mega, they are up there when it comes to top speed and power.
The tricky thing with the Mega engine story is that the stock Mega's will be 30 to 50% cheaper as the old NovaMega.
If you go for a MS edition or more you will have to pay just as much as for the NovaMega's.
I think I will go for the new Mega, this because I can modify the engine myself
Julius Kollf his pitman learned me all the tricks to do it the right way.

Interesting story!
As we have no finalised engine spec yet there is no modified or unmodified version. At present our engines are of the European championship spec. We are more than happy with performance and are mainly reliabilty testing.
The engines used at the Euros were unmodified. Michaels engine as well as mine were opened serveral times at tech for all to see. There were no hand modifications on them.
I opened up my engine for the dutch team to see how it looked inside. As far as pricing policy: Nothing is fixed yet but the MS version will still be cheaper than the stock Nova based engines.
Hope some facts help the rumors out of the world...

Julius, its good that this rumour is cleared but we would have prefered that the latest thinking/info is posted on myTSN. These days all we hear on my TSN is - a0 its no longer going to be a community site, just info and b) what others say on the net isn't true and that this is sick.
Well what is sad (not sick) is that Serpent is relying on folks like you having to go around at all the message boards to see what rumours are out there. Would be much better if up front info is on myTSN.
Having said that I've posted issues and questions for Serpent on myTSN in the past and 90% of the time there are no replies.!

Ooops! Oh dear, looks like the three stoogers (OK, 3 Serpent DieHards) are being tracked.

Having said that how come you haven't joined 3hobby.com? Some of the others are there.

And all the time we thought D's Ring was real
Now we know where the real one lies
