For the diff itself, did you build it without the spacer between the diff cup and case? wondering if that is causing any issues if you didn't.

The diff isnt the issue. The case fits perfectly around the diff. The issue is at the other end of the gearbox cover where the shaft fits in the cover. It wont close.

yeah, I know. what I was getting at was if I am reading what you said correctly, all was fine prior to you doing the diff mod right? It may be something there could potentially causing it to not close that's all.

Can you take a pic or vid of what you are seeing and post?

In particular, a picture of your top shaft.

I never dissassembled the shaft. I simply pulled out the diff and left he rest as is. I'm baffled and cant figure it out.

Added a pic of what you posted showing the case ...

One thing to confirm, are you absolutely sure that the bearing is sitting all the way down into the diff case?

I seem to recall having this issue myself and having to lightly knock the bearing into place.

I would take the end of an exacto handle or something similar and run it around the inside lip of the case to make sure I wasn't hitting a burr or something exposed causing the bearing to not sit down all the way.

Suppose to be a spacer on both sides of top shaft.

robbie

Install bearings inside gear case first ,make sure both bearings are seated flush & then install top shaft.

Haven't driven this truck in a long time but from memory there are different rear toe blocks that have 2 different anti squat options.
