Seems i am a little late to the party. There are the big bore shocks right there in the picture. Was told today by some team drivers they are about a month or two away and will be sold as an option. A kit with big bores is still a way off. Supposedly the hold up was the availability of springs.

This is Big news for me because the only thing preventing me from a purchase were the shocks. I am told in the meantime to use Losi 22 white and red springs with Traxas collars. Does anyone know the part number for the collars?.

Only thing that sucks is that you'll still have to modify your shock towers to clear the Big Bores, not necessarily plug-in-play.

I also hope that the shocks have better anodizing colors. The current blue cartridge cap and black collar and cap is hurting. Personally I'd like to see them look more like their touring car and be all hard anodized black with blue shock collar and cartridge cap.

Need help with these motors, i bought 2848 540xl.

for some reason will not fit in my B4.1. when i try to install the gear will not line up with the spur. Its a 16 size gear, Is there a motor size that i should be getting for this buggy? Gonna make an order in a few days.

Thanks

You won't have to modify anything to run those shocks...all you have to do is run a longer front upper shock mount screw which would go from a 3/4" to a 7/8", and then put on a 2mm spacer before the bushing and you are done. There are no clearance issues with the rears at all either.

that sounds like a modification to me, but if you look at maifield and cavs cars they have the tower modified so they dont change the shock angle.

Oh, so you have a set?

From what I have seen (including in the pic below of Cavs car), you still have to dremel the front tower to clear the collar and the shock cap on the AE BB's doesn't have as tall of an eyelete as the kyosho ones so in the rear the cap can rub on the tower.

From the B4.1 manual, they are 2". Part number 1406.
