Now I don't want to touch it! On this controller it's just a spinning nob. Can't pinpoint exactly what it would be at. And I wouldn't know how to figure out how far the servo can safely go.. Deffinitely don't want to risk loosing more servos

There were only O-rings on that page, I didn't see any X-rings. I hope that the X-rings you were getting on Mcmaster are silicone because if they are Buna they will be terrible and have way more stiction than silicone o-rings.

To set my epa on an mt4, I max out both end points then bring it back a little to eliminate stress on the servo. I can also hear my servo when it is being stressed.

Thought buna was the firmness of the rubber?

Buna it the type of rubber, which is firm and not good for sealing against moving parts. Silicon rubber has less friction which is why they use that.

I wouldn't use EPDM or Voting either.

Jokermayhem 03-30-2012 06:50 AM

What is EPDM or Voting ??

EPDM is the same kind of hard rubber used to make pond liners and roof coverings.

Voting is a method for a group such as a meeting or an electorate to make a decision or express an opinion—often following discussions, debates, or election campaigns. It is often found in democracies and republics. ;)

EPDM and Viton ...... Damn auto text on my phone.
Both are types of rubber that are for certain chemicals. I use EPDM on Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic) and Viton on Sodium Hypochloride (Bleach). Also there is PTFE which is hard and basically plastic which is used for Acids.

Buna will have more friction and make the shock stickier and give inconsistent movement.
Associated o-rings are Silicone and are better suited for the movement of the shock shaft. McMaster Carr sells Silicone o-rings as well. I buy my hardware for my truck from them as well.

Jokermayhem 03-30-2012 07:19 AM

hmm.....so is it a waste to try to get the o ring silcone part# from Mcmaster or should I just use the Associated red silicone o rings from the factory ?

I was going to look for some from them as well. Just need to make sure they are the same size.

Jokermayhem 03-30-2012 07:32 AM

Found them.... Part# 9396k11 ... Silicone o ring from Mcmaster ( and they are the right size ). They are red just like the Associated ones? wonder if they are the same ones Associated gets ??? The guy said they are the same harness as the Buna ones I ordered...their just silicone instead of buna.

Go for it. That's the servo my son run's in his SC10 and it just flat out rocks.

thats the servo I run and it's the business. flawless from day one. be sure to get a glitch buster capacitor though. savox servos tend to suck lots of power.
