Yup. Its not so much the hardness or density but the material compound its made of.
I'll have to try those as well.

No, but it does come out of the same place as this SCT. The Racers Edge SCT and the SC10 look similar, the Team C and Racers Edge are the same truck. Just because something looks similar, doesn't mean it is the same.

I think typically most of the Buna o-rings have a higher shore rating than the silicon o-rings. It is best for our application to try and get a the lowest shore rating possible, because a softer o-ring will require less squeeze (from the spacer and cap) to make a good seal on the shaft. If the o-ring has less squeeze then it isn't squeezing on the shaft as much which will result in less drag/ stiction.

Will the carbon T4 front and rear arms fit no problem?

Why are they junk?

breakage issues.

By the way Jason B, what settings do you use on your MMP with your ballistic 10.5 ? also, any settings of timing on the motor different than stock and your gearing? Using a 10.5 on my SC10 as well, different ESC but curious still.

I race against a few Team C trucks and they seem to be good trucks. They handle well and seem to be durable. But that doesn't mean they are the same. My understanding was that Team C trucks were manufactured in the same plant as a few other name brand companies. Just because they are manufactured there doesn't mean they are the same.

I run:
Drag brake = 40%
Brake = 70%
Timing = 8%
boost = 8,000 rpm - 12,000 rpm
gearing on current 19/84, but pinion could go anywhere between 19 to 23.

I race against that exact racers edge truck. I have never seen It finish a heat race. Parts are not available in stock at most stores. The electronics that come in the kit are crap. Suspension leaks all over the place. Tranny whines. I think that is enough to consider it crap. I cannot speak for team c, but IMO racers edge is crap and not worth the money

Too much, not enough, you are an idiot?

Hi All

So I am only just jumping no the SCT bandwagon, having flown planks (planes) for the past 2 years I wanted to get back into RC Car Racing.

Now having been out of it since my mid teens (10 or so years) things have changed heaps!

Having found the team SC10 website I build up a tower hobbies order that I am hoping will get me racing in the amatuer/stock group and was hoping you guys would give me some thoughts.

Is this overkill? Not enough? Im missing the obvious? Should I just get the RTR and some tyres to start?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Well it would depend on where you were trying to race. Go to that track and see what the tire/insert of choice is, then get that combo. Also the RS comes with wheel/tires that are already glued so if you were planning to use the rims it came with, you are going to need some rims as well. You need SC10 RS or SC10 4x4 wheels (any brand) because the RS uses 12mm hexes instead of wheel pins and bearings. The integy heatsink will not fit so don't bother getting it. I would recommend getting RPM ballcups and replacing them straight away. The first night with my FTSC10 I broke a ball cup coming onto the straight. There was a roller in the corner before the straight and I kinda corner jumped onto the straight and snap. I am a really good driver and I only crash maybe 1-3 times a race day, and like I said it was the first day on the truck, so it had maybe one or two crashes at the most. I replaced the ballcups and have yet to have anothe issue. Other than that your list looks good.

If you get the FT kit here is what to do:
keep everything stock except the ball cups and bumper.Get RPM ballcups and RPM bumper.The FT Hinge Pin brace comes with the kit.Gradually build up on the upgrades (Spring kit, tires, shock oil) until you get a feel for everything, then ask guys at your hobby shop for further tuning help.The carbon top plate isnt really neccesary with the RPM bumper. Heatsink isnt neccesary. Milled motor plate comes with FT kit. Foam will come with the tires (dont buy sepertate unless u are looking for specific tuning options. Body clips aren't neccesary either.
I would reccomend the RTR for a beginner and then slowly upgrade. The only real advantage to the kit is for a racer that wants to customize his car from scratch and doesn't want to play around and also wants his own electronics of his choice. o yea, u will need electronics with the kit.
I would reccommend the RTR and upgrade as u progress.
