how much play is in your steering at speed?
By that I mean how much can you move your wheel with the steering at full throw left or right. |
Hey guys i'm looking to build an FT kit for the 17.5 "boosted" class. I want to run a MMP since I have another I use in my SC10 4x4 and would like to have a backup for either. What would be a good sensorless motor to use?

Viper for me has been really great. They run cooler than most but with more power but the power band is soft. Good brakes, MY NOVAK used to run 150 after main with the same gearing on viper it ran 30 degrees color.=] and it just worked. So basically 17.5 trinity motors, reedy,viper..thats all i can recommend bc ik people are very happy with them. |
Thanks. A motor that can run both as sensor & sensorless would be ideal. These are the specs I need to meet:
1/10 2WD Stock “17.5 Boosted” Short Course Truck: Wheel base: Minimum 320mm (12.59 in) Maximum 335mm (13.19 in) Overall Length: Minimum 540mm (21.25 in) Maximum 568mm (22.36 in) Overall Width: Minimum 290mm (11.42 in) Maximum 296mm (11.65 in) Weight Minimum: 2098 gr (74 oz) Vehicle Height Overall: Minimum 199mm (7.835 in) Wheel bead Inner: Maximum 76.20mm (3.0 in) Wheel Diameter Outer: Maximum 55.88mm (2.2 in) Wheel bead width: Maximum 39.37mm (1.55 in) Wheel width: Maximum 41.91mm (1.65 in) Tires Diameter Mounted: Minimum 106.68 (4.20 in) Tire Width (Mounted): Maximum 46.99mm (1.85 in) Motor: 17.5 turn brushless or 27 turn brushed. ROAR Spec Brushless Motors: External shaft diameter must be 0.125 inches (3.175mm). Only one piece, two pole Neodymium sintered, or Ferrite (Ceramic) magnetic rotors are permitted. The magnet length shall be 25.0 +/- 1.00mm not including any nonmagnetic balancing material. The magnet outside diameter shall be a maximum of 12.51 mm, no tolerance, for the entire length of the magnet. The shaft outside diameter, where the magnet is mounted, shall be 7.25 +/- 0.150mm for the entire length of the magnet. This dimension must be measurable without destroying the rotor. Battery: any 2S Hard Case LiPo (7.4volt), 6Cell NiMh (7.2volt), or 2S LiFe (6.6volt) Speed Control: any production ESC is allowed. 2 wheel rear drive with geared or ball differential only. No tire tread cutting, bald tires or custom cut tires allowed. Body Specifications: Full fender truck body. Body must completely cover tires when viewed from above. No add on or integrated spoilers/wings allowed. Tire Mounted: Minimum Diameter of the tire (mounted) is established to limit extremely low profile designs. The target dimension (new tire) is established at 4.30 inches. To compensate for wear, molding tolerances, degradation of foam inserts, the pre- race minimum allowable diameter of a mounted tire is 4.20 inches. No ribbed front tires are permitted. Height: Minimum Overall Height is measured with vehicle at Static Stance in ready to race condition. Race vehicles must have front and rear bumpers. Must be made from non Metal material and not contain sharp edges. Front bumper must be minimum 171.45mm (6.750 inch) in width. Front Bumper can be no wider than the inner sidewall of the front tire when straight. |

Anyone running the LRP vector X12 17.5 spec motor?

I just have the jc rears on my 2wd, but....the stock sc10 4x4 wheel needs a spacer on the outside for the nut. the nut bottoms out on the threads before it's tight. the protrack wheels I have must be a little thicker, no spacer required
Thanks |
Looking for some information on big bore springs. I know this thread is long and i couldnt find a setup for big bore springs. I would like to use the losi springs like i have on 44.1 but wondering what springs, oil, and pistons for the sc10?
Thanks, |

This was an old post, does it still hold true? I want to interchange wheels between the SC10 an SC104x4 as I already have a few sets of protrac's for the 4x4
Thanks Normally if you need a washer on the outside of the rim, either your bearings are worn/going out. the hex is worn on the inside by the bearing(stock AE plastics hec like to do this) or the rim is worn/thin around the hex. my SC10 4x4 has had no problems fitting on working very well on my 2wd. no spacer on the outside needed. |

Nevermind, I think my hangover caused me to read that as "ROAR Sensorless Motors: :weird:

well my ball cups seemed to be wore out an want to upgrade to add durabilty wats the best way to do that
|
RPM ballcups or SC10 4x4 links and ball cups those are 3mm. Or you can go with dubro captured ends.
So who is liking the BB spring upgrade, is it helping to smooth out the ride over bumpy sections and jumps? |

Have any of you used orange compound barcodes? I ordered these from tower thinking they were just a step over supersoft .. tower lists them as "soft orange compound" but now I seen blue-softs released and realized these are hard hot weather tires. But I didn't know how junk they would really be.
