Does anyone run the Proline front hex setup? I put one on my Factory Team and they have alot of slop. Its easy to install the setup and I checked the installation in the Proline site. I have it all setup like they show but I can't imagine that it should have the amount of slop it does.

Does the RS hex setup have alot of slop as well?

Hmmm thats weird. Not sure why mine is like that. I will check it out again tomorrow and maybe try some another set of new bearings. The only other thing it can be is where the pin fits thru and presses up against the axle it don't fit tight enough and produces slop.

Not sure if it will help but, I have the proline front hexes and I have to run 2 or 3 axle shims on each side behind the pin to get mine right.

I will try that. We have extra shims at the hobbyshop so when I work today I will gab some and put them on.

K, need some help/advice. Ran my SC10 RS for the first time at the track today, indoor carpet offroad. After a bunch of laps it developed a "click", not all the time, mainly when getting back on the throttle, but again, not all the time. Got nervous and stopped, two guys that were helping my with my DX3 earlier came over and said it was my diff, sounded shot, should get a ball diff. Diff shot?, the truck is like 20 minutes old. I took it apart and it appears fine although i did notice the side of the diffcover(side with the screws) doesn't sit flush against the case in one spot when tightened. Came someone help, is my diff shot, I assume the noise is not normal, should I call AE and get a replacement?? HELP!!!! And thanks.

I talked to Associated tech support and it sounds like the rs has the same diff guts as their 4x4. Has anyone tried using a 4x4 gear diff rebuild kit in a 2wd sc10? Latest version of 2wd gear diff rebuild kit uses 2 shims inside the diff rather than 1 inside and 1 between outdrive and diff housing. Also found out to tighten diff case screws snug but do not crank down and strip them out. The tightness of the diff case screws has nothing to do with diff resistance-that is a function of grease or oil used. Hope this helps for those who still use a gear diff.

Any recommendation on getting the servo horn aligned in the center? I have a savox using a futaba servo horn (stock) and it seems to align to the left or right only...only about a spline or 2...

Only way to do it is with a programmer to reset the servos center. None of my servos are perfectly vertical either, just get it as close as you can and then set your drag link, then set your toe. You'll have to set the servo endpoints in your radio anyways to have equal throw right and left.

My DX3r radio has a sub trim adjustment, thats what I do to center servo.

I have a SC10RS.
Awesome truck, race it at Keilor off road rc track. New to the hobby but getting better, had an awesome time last night at the SCT stampede until my truck went in the drink, she kept on going for the rest on that race, but the water settled in and she died before the next round.

time for a monster setup i think.

cheers

I held off on getting the hex conversion because of the amount of slop that the Proline setup has. I put the RS setup on mine and I use JConcepts rear hexes and HPI Blitz front hexes with no more slop than is inherent to the SC10 steering.

Had the Proline setup and bought the RS setup when it came out. Tons of slop in the Proline one. Partially due to their bearings (use the stock AE wheel ones instead) and partially due to the design/tolerances. The AE RS setup is much cleaner.
