Had the Proline setup and bought the RS setup when it came out. Tons of slop in the Proline one. Partially due to their bearings (use the stock AE wheel ones instead) and partially due to the design/tolerances. The AE RS setup is much cleaner.

Its like Prolines axles are machines just a tad too small and fit loose in the bearings. I will be ordering the stuff I need to use the Associated setup this week thats for sure. All my other Proline products have been great so I'm disappointed that their hex setup sucks.

I really like it!

:) :) :)

1) With your esc in the battery tray what did you rig up to keep the battery in place? Your pictures don't really show it.

2) what did you use for a ballast weight under the battery?

Ever since I saw Kinwald's setup with the esc in the battery tray I've been itching to try it too. It just makes sense to put it there. Your pics may have just motivated me to do it.

Looks sharp! May have to try those Losi ball cups next time I replace mine. Do you like them better then the RPM cups?

I stuffed a 8000mah 2s2p venom pack in mine . Basicly a 4 cell ' just take the half moon off the top of the rear hinge and put them on the bottom . That will raise the bat hold down and I took the thumb screws out of the front and use 3mm screws .

I use lead roofing flash, very thin , weight is 4oz, fits the battery tray perfect.

ESC is mounted with servo tape & a extra thin pad between the battery & ESC...

Quick

Would of used RPM but my track was out of the color black , so I went with the Losi ball cups .
Either brand is stronger than the Ae ball cup .

This past wednesday Ty Tessman was at my track here in Beaumont Ca, for club racing with his sc10...I have a kyosho ultima scr which I love/hate....
Ty's car was so hooked up!!!!!! I have never seen a 2wd sc jump and have so much traction!!!!!! Guys he jumped every thing here at thunder alley!!!....I really am confused as to how his car was so dialed at my track? And the best of all he crahed that thing big time...He was doing back flips over the triples....He crashed a ton of times and never broke a part...Pisses me off because my kyosho broke a front bulk head and a reear plate the same nlght??? All I can say is wow!!! it was a cold night and my parts were brittle.....Is the sc10 that much stronger than the Kyosho?

the plastic is soft, when its cold they become nice, when its hot the can break easier to carbon parts replace them, a.e is great at meeting their customers midway, cheap parts and good choices.

Im glad I have not went to 12mm Hex's yet. Another guy that runs them here
has tons of slop, even a fully tightend wheel it still wobbles like crazy...
Why change to hex anyway I like the pin type axels better myself...
AE has used them for years, why change something that already works?
