I remember seeing a reply on mytsn 710 forum about this. The answer was because there is no point of reducing "rotational" mass at the expense of strength when the mass is concentrated close to the rotational axis unlike lightening the 2 speed gearbox or the ball diff where the heavy parts are away from the rotational axis.

It does reduce static weight but what's the use when you already have a light car?

Do you work at RC Mushroom? The last time I visited the website (about a week ago), did not see the lightweight shaft from Shooter.

Well, I need to get a front ball diff first to be able to test it !

In my opinion, with a solid front axle, you need to play around with the other car settings to achieve a balanced car. With the front ball diff, it is easier to set the car without playing much with the other car settings. Just loosen or tighten the front diff accordingly to adapt it to the track or your driving style. My 2 cents.

HAHA! Nope, don't work there just visit there alot to see if they have updated there parts for the 710. Going to place an order there in a week or two so just want to stay on top of what there getting in for the 710.
That's what I figured. Front diff would be easier to find the sweet spot with, especially for a rookie like me

I've not come across complete sets where you can get at one go unlike the ones for MTX-3 or for XRay from companies like Speedmind. You need to count the number of screws from the manual and get them separately according to their sizes and lengths. Either Tamiya or Speedmind has them. Mostly M3 button head screws.

Thank you King D Thank you for all the GREAT help. You seem to be able to answer anything, I suppose only experience and serpent can do that for ya...

SERPENT .

Well... I have a KO Propo EX11 with the smallest receiver I have ever seen, (not very experienced with the new stuff). I think it is just an FM receiver. I would rather get a KO digital than anything else but DANG they are expensive... not really more than others, but still pricey. if one can program from pc then that is fine... I can do that... anyone had experience with protoform MG body yet?

Yes. The EX11 runs on normal FM. The receiver unit is small but the newer Helios is even smaller !

I would say that summer is coming and Mr Surikarn will be on the shelf until next winter, but it is still snowing here and I have no motor or servos as yet

Anyone know if there is a supply problem with the 2106 engine? or a general Novamega supply problem - I've had one engine on back-order since november and my 2106 for at least 6 weeks.

Cheers, Mark.

Would not know. I guess it depends where you're getting it from. Your waiting is pretty long for the engine which is unusual.
